This whole thing actually did a lot to realize how bad people are in general with politics. The NPC meme is so perfect. I remember when Trump won I was in Europe for work, drunk off my tits, and passed out early during election night among a bunch of Democrats Abroad in a rented movie theater. When I woke up, early that morning, it was the end of election night in America, and people were literally fucking crying. I remember thinking, "Well, maybe they'll learn that Trump isn't actually the devil, and the president is far less powerful than they think he is. They'll see that he wont get much done other than embarrass us for a few years, but ultimately the nation will push on."

Which is true. Trump didn't achieve much, embarassed us, going to need some repair, but ultimately, didn't devolve into a dystopian hellscape they were all worried about. But nope. They didn't see it that way.

In fact, what REALLY opened my eyes was how liberals are just as fucking bad with being partisan mindless drones as the conservatives they criticized. It used to be the left routinely pointing out Republican partisan hypocricy, party over country, misleading half truths, media spin, etc... And now the left is being just as dishonest. Subreddits like /r/politics are full blown propaganda centers no better than fucking Fox News... It's truly a Clown World. And what's sad, is they never had to stoop that low. Trump doesn't require that level of dishonest bias and partisanship to hate. So all they've done is stoop to his level creating "equality" of bullshit when taking the high road would have been way better. Now normal human being are rolling their eyes are Democrats when they cry about kids in cages all of a sudden, insist every Republican are Nazi sympathizers, and everyone from the midwest are dumb stupid racist white trash.
