I have a theory that most women aren't necessarily looking for a tall man for the height. They just don't want the problems and insecurities that (a lot of) average and especially short men bring to the table.

Can confirm. I dated a guy 1/2 and inch shorter than me for nearly 3 years. His insecurity about it was so draining that I said I’d never date a man my height or less again so I didn’t have to deal with his constant controlling and disrespectful just so he didn’t feel emasculated. The problem is that I’m 5’10” and 6’1” in heels, and guys 6’1” and taller and are at least mildly attractive are often players because they know their height is desirable

Look at the comments when ANY woman is posted to Reddit. Seriously. There will be countless comments judging her appearance, whether it’s nose shape, breast size, weight, hair, etc. I could go on forever; men will find a flaw.
But the second a woman has preferences (as we should!!!), they throw a fucking tantrum. They’re so used to having their way to see aesthetically pleasing women they never think that yeah, we’re humans and have basic ass standards too. It’s in our basic fucking biology to want an attractive stable mate. Complete BS.

I've witnessed men on reddit call Rihanna ugly because her forehead is too big and ScarJo ugly because her lips are asymmetrical. Men feel like it's their RIGHT to judge any woman's appearance; it doesn't matter how successful, talented, or beautiful it is they will nitpick and criticize every minute detail on her body. Meanwhile, some girl on Tinder likes tall guys and there are weekly posts on the frontpage talking about how awful height preferences are. Funny enough, where are the posts about boob size preferences? Body shape preferences? Age preferences?

cellulite is a secondary sex characteristic. I think in males a secondary sex characteristic is a protruding adams apple and sperm production. cellulite is literally a basic sex characteristic. All women have it.

I have a thing about baseball caps. I do not have time for men who live in their baseball caps. It’s a quick way for me to tell if they have basic manners - a smelly dirty hat that they wear all the time and refuse to remove inside? Glad to see I'm not the only one. I so wonder about the paedophilia thing? I am actually the size of a 12 year old girl, which is one of the reasons I won't shave off all of my pubic hair. I look young for my age but it was even worse when I was younger. I've only ever dated a 6 footer once. People used to call us little and large. A long time ago I was seeing this guy that was over 6'. While I don't really care about height, I found the height differences to be very physically awkward and uncomfortable at times.
I'm 5'4" and hubby is about 5'7" at most. It works for me. Good men come in all leg lengths :)

Seriously! I'm 5'3 according to the last doctors appointment I had, but that was years ago so if I'm being generous there MAY be a chance I'm 5'4 or possibly 5'5 but it's unlikely; either way I'm definitely not above the average female height for my country, yet my entire life and still as an adult I've gotten shit on again and again for being an "abnormally tall girl" by any guys under or close to my height. I've been made fun of for my height so much in my life I actually developed a complex about it. So many men refuse to accept any flaw they have and somehow find a way to flip it on women and make US feel bad for not only their own shortcomings, but our refusal to ignore their flaws and lower our dating standards just to accommodate them.
We really live in a world where men can convince a woman at the statistical average (or even less than that) height for their sex that they're the problem, when they themselves are 5+ inches below their own sexes average. And then on top of that, get to set their standards at whatever ridiculous, unfair, totally out of their league expectation that they feel like on practically any physical trait they want, including height. Tons of guys I know openly admit they only pursue exceptionally short girls due to that and shame the fuck out of women who are "too tall" for their ridiculous insecurities, but then turn around and shit on any woman who dare set their own preferences for height in a man for being shallow.

Your comment reminded me of a guy I dated briefly years ago. We were out at dinner having a great time when the subject of family comes up. At the time, my niece was two years old and I tell him about how I'm her godmother. He asked how I felt about starting a family, which isn't an invasive question, so I tell him I'm undecided, but not against it.
All of a sudden he responds, "Well, you're so small. How would you feel about all of a sudden gaining ALL THAT WEIGHT? And then, you've got an EXTRA 40 POUNDS you've got sticking to you?"
His statement made me so uncomfortable and not to mention the emphasis! Then he added how he couldn't see himself staying attracted to a woman who was once so slender and now her body changed so drastically. I lost my cool.
I don't remember my response word for word, although I said that I was honestly really pissed off that he was calculating how much weight a woman keeps on her body postpartum and using that as a measure of his attraction and affection.
He had the nerve to defend it and then to blame the woman for "not staying as tiny as possible". Then he followed with, "Did I upset you?" because I told him that I'm ready to leave if we don't end the conversation and I definitely I know I wouldn't choose to have kids with him.

It's certainly weird. Men set a standard with every age. 1920s: flappers who strap their chests down with gauze. Skinny and always sexually available. 1940s and 50s: Hourglass figures are now a must! They want ladies to forget women ran the workforce during WWII. Men want women to get back in the kitchen and have child bearing hips least she forgets all men deserve to have good paying jobs unlike women...who should be mommy maids. The 60s? Meh, it varied. Lefty men wanted sexual permissive women, conservative men dipped in that pool too but wanted mommy maids at the end of the day. No body type dominated until the 70s. Hello Twiggy...the model (wiki her). Make yourself small again, madam, like men demanded after women got the vote (flappers). Radical feminism is strong at this time, so mainstream men needed women to distract themselves with absurd body standards AGAIN.
The 80s...eating disorders were strong. Once again, women make strides, so the suggestion that they were not physically perfect was revenge. Distract women with male hangups! Breast implants were popular. So was aerobics.
90s: at first, not so bad. You could be grungy but cool. Then, a little bit into that decade, porn became mainstream. All of the sudden, pube hair was an affront. Women were trained to indulge perversions. There was this thing where women couldn't decide if they should pluck the shit out of their eyebrows or leave them thick. A few years later, the internet came around. Porn, porn, porn...not pinups or the occasional video...porn all the fucking time. It's commercialized and starts to make more money than the NFL. Suddenly, a women's internal genitals are supposed to be a certain color to be thought of as acceptable. Still, body hair and any physical proof of having gone through puberty is shamed -- except for big fake tits. Incest is sexy, and women are expected to endure pain...and not question why men want to reenact murder as a form of foreplay (choking, gagging, hair pulling).
During the 80s and early 90s, the AIDS scare was a thing. A woman had the zeitgeist on her side if she expected her sex partner to wear a condom. 2000, with mainstream porn, condom etiquette went out the freaking window. Suddenly there are strands of syphilis that don't respond to medications. Women are expected to take harsh pharmaceuticals just so a guy doesn't have to wear a condom for an act not likely to last more than two minutes. In the meantime, depending on where a women lived, male politicians threaten to take birth control away.

It’s SO HARD to find clothes! I thought getting smaller would help but it hasn’t and I realized it’s just my shape. And because my body has fluctuated so much I still have signs of old stretch marks. Getting fit and to a low body fat percentage didn’t take away all of my cellulite. Men love the IDEA of the full figured woman but they hate everything that comes with it that doesn’t fuel a sexual purpose to them

Omg don't even get me started on clothes when you're an hourglass! I really need to get a sewing machine so I can tailor my own clothes. I'm very fortunate that I'm very tall and very pale so cellulite and stretch marks aren't as much of an issue but yeah. Men in general chase that hourglass physique but don't want to deal with what it means to have thin skin stretching over fat deposits, even if those deposits are in places they find aesthetically pleasing.

👏 yes, this guy in my friend group liked me. I'm fit, successful, and pretty. He doesn't take care of himself at all (like to the point it's a medical detriment) and calls me shallow and neggs me all the time about how I know will date good looking men. Okay... Well, I put effort into myself, my looks, and my personality. I expect a partner to do the same. And that's NOT shameful.

I like tall, lean guys, who have stylish hair that’s not receding, a shaved, clean chest, perfect teeth and preferably blue eyes. Also nice biceps and a defined jawline. Oh, and add financially stable to the list. Anything else is sub-standard and likely a 3/10. Get mad, scrotes.

Honestly, the types of guys who lust after big asses and big thighs really aren't the types I date.
I'm older, and my generation did everything to avoid having big thighs and a big ass. You saw that desired by guys in certain cultures but it was not mainstream. Hell, if you asked a woman 25 years ago if she had to pick one - more fat on her butt or to lose brain cells - I think most women would have sacrificed the brain cells.

I’m thick thick as in I have big boobs and a big butt but I’m not a stick in every other part of my body. I have thick arms and my stomach is flat but thick if that makes sense. I don’t date fat guys or guys even a little bit overweight. Why would I ? I have slim and muscular guys taking me out on fancy dates, buying me gifts, being able to pick me up during sex. With good careers , making 10 times more then I make. Why would I date a fat guy ? 😂😂😂 especially cause men have no excuse to be fat. They don’t take birth control pills, they don’t get pregnant and carry babies, puberty literally sheds them of their fat in exchange for muscle. I don’t mind short guys personally cause my short boyfriends have been able to pick me up during sex and are the manly types to pay for everything and act like an actual man with me. But fat? Gross. Especially cause the men complaining about how women are actual demonic evil for not liking short fat men are the ones who think women don’t grow hair and think women are born with long beautiful hair

This!!!!! I went to a friend’s birthday brunch when we were still able to leave our houses and her boyfriend brought some of his friends. I happened to be seated next to one who was buying me drinks left and right. When he stood up though I realized he was shortttttt. I’m about 6’3 with heels. I later saw him on bumble saying his height was 5’11 (my height) and had to forward it to all my friends. No way this man is over 5’8! Why do they lie like they’ll never meet these girls in person?!??
