This marriage is on its deathbed because the husband has no respect for his wife.

He doesn’t value her contribution.

He doesn’t share the domestic work.

He goes out with his friends, leaving her at home.

He runs to his mother to complain about his wife.

And he gets angry when asked to do a task he has described as easy.

That said, choosing to have four children with a man like this is a terrible series of decisions.

One of my friends actually lived this situation for ten years and she broke. She was admitted to the hospital because she was dangerously depressed and when she came out recently she chose to move into a rental and leave her husband the house and the kids because it’s too much to cope for her.

This could be where this marriage is heading, so not a smart move on his part at all.

All my other friends have fulltime jobs and a housekeeper plus husbands who actually share the load. Their marriages and relationships seem to be 100% better.

Also. There's no way she has gotten a 8 hours night of sleep in like forever. And that's assuming she falls asleep in a minute and her crappy husband never bothers her for sex at bedtime.

Honestly, there's no reason why the older three kids can't set their own alarm clocks, make their own breakfasts and lunches, or fold and choose their own clothes. No snacks after dinner, either. She's running herself into the ground just to raise another generation that expects this.

Serious question: why do women do this to themselves? Almost all of them say they wouldn't change a thing, but this sounds like absolute hell. I've never wanted children; several of my friends have a couple, and I'm totally exhausted after spending 2 hours with them with zero responsibility from my end. I really wish I could understand why this lifestyle is evidently desirable for so many women.

He called his mom to tell on her. Oh my gosh this was my ex. One time we were fighting and I refused to talk to him bc I just needed some space so he had his mom come downstairs (we were staying with them at the time) and tell me to text him. He was 24... Thank goodness I broke off the engagement or else this would have been my life. Good for her for giving him a taste of his own medicine. Best bet is to leave that crazy man and his mama (I know it’s harder with kids but it’s in their best interest too).

What makes me the saddest for her is that she could have finished college and become a game developer, which seemed to be something she wanted to be. Instead she got stuck with this sorry excuse of a man.
