There’s so much to talk about on this subject but I can’t help but share a nuance of my own.

Towards the end he says that porn changes their viewpoints snd that there is research on this. There are real subtleties to this. It’s not just about objecting women and violence and inclination toward pedophilia.

My ex used to really believe and go in rants about how easy it is for women, how they can use sex and use men and earn money easily etc. This despite his own life experiences that really said the contrary. Both him and his dad were deadbeats, their life consisted of drugs, wanking, video games etc. Neither accomplished anything but lived relatively comfortably on some insurance money they received. I on the other hand his junior by a decade, an immigrant without any family, earn 3 times as much he ever did. I’m literally an immigrant, a racial minority, with no family support and I come from nothing. I literally immigrated from a third world country in my own and built my life from scratch. He was born in the richest part of this country. I’m pushing on 200k this year, while he continues to have accomplished nothing, driven himself to pedophilia through his sex addiction and is constantly controlled by the dozen addictions he juggles. But yet he strongly believes his own rants about how women live for free while barely having earned a dime. Amazing. I’m watching this later but it reminds me of the “sex as yoga positions” videos girls are having their boyfriends do on tik tok. All the comments are “we have the same boyfriend!!!!” And, thanks to FDS, my first thought was yeah, they’re all watching porn lol.

TLDR/TLDW: it isn’t so much porn being wrong/portrayed, but the kind of porn being portrayed which majority is either violent or underaged. This type of porn needs to be banned and we all should take steps to decrying it the same way we decry racism and banning racist content
