The more time I spend alive on this earth the more I see examples of women being absolutely in love with the dark triad traits. This is what happens when the mating dance is left in the hands of flighty women-children: they sleep with "alpha" dudes (or men they perceive to be "alpha'), who break their ability to pair bond with the good men they will want when they finish growing up (to the extent that they ever do).

Swap out a few details and the guy could be my brother back in the 1980s. His real mistake was not that he was too nice (although he was... and arguably still is); it's that he put a ring on her hand and had two kids with her. (Well... she had two kids. The paternity of the youngest one is an open question as far as I'm concerned.)

Woman like her and my former SIL can only be "tamed" by a man with a firm hand, and even then they have a tendency to try to "slip the leash" if a man gets knocked off his game for very long.

I would argue that the juice isn't worth the squeeze... a woman who has to be constantly "brought to heel" isn't a woman I'd want to be with.

Another question is why flighty women-children are so enamored of guys who treat them like crap. Obviously a lack of father figures is a major factor. A girl who doesn't grow up with a strong father has little experience of what masculine strength looks like on a day-to-day basis, so they gravitate to men who make cartoonish displays of machismo (which, ironically, conveys a severe lack of genuine masculinity).

Obviously I'm a man, and although I'm not large for a man I'm still more than capable of physically dominating all but the most unusual of women. Could I "control" a woman by constantly displaying over-exaggerated dominance? I suppose so... but why would I want to do that? Not only is it not in my nature, but it sounds exhausting. More importantly: why would I want to be with a woman who needed me to do that to respect me?

Most regular men I know are somewhat assertive and manly, and yet pretty respectful, comunicative, and nice in general. Some of them are a bit too passive, some a bit too confident maybe, but there aren't so vast differences unless we're talking about rare cases.

So...someone help me out here. I'm new. I've seen posts relating to women who do NOT want to be submissive, and the comments are "Women need to submit to their men, that's the natural way of things, that's how it works". So a woman says she DOES want to submit but her man is downright passive, and...that's also a flaw with her, why isn't she happy to not be submissive, to have to take the initiative herself? I don't think she wants a douchebag. Just someone who is more assertive. You don't need to call her a worthless slut. Or belittle her. They don't crave being beliittled. They crave being dominated in a fatherly tough love type way.

I find a good way to be assertive is when she is trying to accomplish something and she is slacking. Put her back on track. This allows you to be assertive withour belittling her. For example she is studying for something and goes out to party the night before. Tell her sternly. Your not going out tonight. You have exam. You are gonna stay home and study whether you like it or not.

A more fatherly tough love approach is alot easier and in my nature. I'm a very easy going guy. So it's hard for me to firm.
