The whole situation about a woman who has doubts but has to make choices and hold onto them is common in stories written for particular type of women, it's just life. In Eat, prey, love we also see a girl cheating on her fiance, for example.

And.. uh.. yeah, it's part of life, what can I say? The choices we make, the desires we have to live with. This is why this show is made - some (not all, but enough) will somewhat relate to it, and lightheartedly amuse themselves, so the show will make money.

I understand, of course, how it makes you uneasy, but my advice to you - just ignore it, keep your calm. Don't perceive it to be about your life.

I just read your whole thing. This show has a 31% on rotten tomatoes right now...not exactly a good rating. Just because something is trending on Netflix doesn't mean that it's because people want to actually live that plot/story. Alot of things trend because they're something to gawk at/grab our attention. I don't think millions of people watched Jersey Shore because they literally wanted to live that life, I think it was almost comically dramatic to the point where it caught public attention. Why bother getting blackpilled over this? It's not as if every woman is secretly watching this show while her partner is sleeping and fantasizing over it.

There are so many shows/movies that also depict men cheating too. It's a stereotype to have the business man screwing his young, hot secretary while his wife is unknowingly waiting for him at home, being loyal. I think we, as humans, tend to be drawn to drama. And infidelity is one of the most dramatic things that can be depicted.

So I kind of agree with you. I do believe the media can affect our perceptions of the world, and the stories we tell ourselves and each other are important and do affect us. But I don’t think this one show will have quite as large an affect as you might think. I’m sure there are other guys watching it and maybe becoming more radicalized because this show confirms their world view. But I do think that’s probably a very small amount of people. I’ve never heard of this show, actually, so I don’t think it’s really gonna have any kind of big impact. But I understand your worry and I don’t think it’s completely unfounded. I do think you should stop watching the show and/or reading about it though, it sounds like it’s really upset you

I’ve never seen this show and I have no interest in watching it. The worst part about this show (where I read about) is that it romanticizes adultery. Hollywood included adultery in their movies/shows because to them it makes the stories 'interesting'. This show is a selfish person's wet dream. Hollywood doesn't care about the consequences of those selfish actions.

I'm pretty sure RP will use this show as ammunition to dehumanize women.

The show's story telling itself is fucked. Seriously,

This bitch had a fantasy... While her newborn is sucking her boob...about her boyfriend sucking her boob.

Firstly, she wouldn't be having such a high sex drive with just being pregnant. She can't have sex because her hoo is still healing. Her libido would be so low because estrogen is in low percentages.

Third, her husband is a typical clueless husband. She describes him as perfect, ...yet she cheats on him. She has a big fucking house with a perfect husband - HE ISNT BAD LOOKING AT ALL AND HE IS VERY FAMILY CENTRIC AND SHE IS STILL UNGRATEFUL. So AGAIN, INSTEAD OF COMMUNICATING THIS TO HER HUSBAND. SHE CHEATS ON HIM.

The show's sex is so bad. It's so over the top, and I can't believe that people called it "steamy". I literally felt uncomfortable because you couldn't go through one episode with just a normal conversation. Every opening scene is sex. The message is so horribly toxic and selfish. I hope the female lead gets hit by a semi. She's selfish. She doesn't deserve her family.

The show is just so uncomfortable to watch I can't FUCKING STAND IT❗ It's like watching A Serbian, SALO 120 Days of Sodom, Cannibal Holocaust , Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, Nekromantic, and Neverending Story 3which, BACK TO BACK, for 7 YEARS STRAIGHT❗And that would probably be A LOT more bearable to watch than THIS SHIT❗
