r/MensRights is just as frustrating a sub as r/Feminism sometimes. Its like each group is so heavily invested in hyping up "their fighter" in the octagon, so heavily invested in winning "this bout", they forget that two fighters have to come together in a friendly agreement under respectful rules to get what benefits the both of them: a successful and profitable bout that leaves both bruised and winded but substantially richer and hopefully happier for the joy of mutual competetition and benefit.

I don't think its inaccurate to say that our country has a problem with misogyny. I don't think its inaccurate to say we have a problem with misandry. I think it's deeply problematic to pretend that one or the other or neither is true, and I think its a gross overreaction to say that Yang is a piece of shit because of these comments.

If people with penises make all political decisions in a vacuum, the political reality of having a uterus fails to be understood. If feminine values regulate every decision in a marriage, balance is lost. Men and women are an evolutionary dynamo because they complement each other. Neither does well in isolation from the other, much less so when they try to dominate the other. Yang isn't saying that men suck and women are the answer. He's saying ---crazy idea here-- that men can't survive and thrive without women (not just in a literal breeding sense but in a political and emotional sense).

It's Yin and Yang people.

Our country makes it hard to be a woman, and our country makes it hard to be a man. We punish women for being women and we punish me for being men. As long as we buy into a war of the genders or the idea that one side is benefiting wholeheartedly from intentional oppression of the other, we vilify the other and cling to a smug sense of moral superiority.

The presentation of this headline certainly doesn't help: the daily mail decided that "MORONS" needed to be in all caps. The headline is designed to make you feel personally attacked. The actual emphasis was placed on the word "alone"-- isolation, both literal and ideological, makes us stupid because we lose sight of the other. Talking to men will show you pretty quickly how they struggle to live up to social expectation of masculinity, and talking to women reveals pretty quickly how trying it can be to live & labor under the expectation of femininity.

It is rather like Major Pete. You get those candidates who at the start seem reasonable enough, but whether because they just show their true color or whether you have to play the crazy leftist game to get anywhere, those guys end up saying really egregious things that rather quickly erode the common sense they seem to have exhibited.

I mean, sure, I can get that many of these men might have been bullied for example and now conflate bad men they encountered, maybe even in an environment where bad guys were at the top and everyone else had to keep their head down, with what it means to be a man in general... ...but have you never seen or experienced girls bullying? I’m admittedly biased because I’m a huge Yang supporter, but also sympathetic to MRAs.

Yang is the only candidate that places a giant emphasis on issues men are facing socio-economically. He’s the only one talking about suicide rates and drug addiction disproportionately affecting men. He’s the only candidate talking about the effect of automation and trade policy displacing jobs that disproportionately affect men. He’s the only candidate that talks about dwindling college graduation rates among men. He’s the only candidate that emphasizes subsidizing trade schools to offer alternative paths away from college, which again disproportionately improves men’s lives.

There is no other democratic candidate talking about men’s issues and placing an actual spotlight on the issues men face in contemporary America. The fact that many of you are dismissing his campaign outright because of these comments shows you need to do more research, and definitely need to stop being so sensitive.

Watch Andrew Yang’s appearance on Eric Weinstein’s podcast The Portal, and you’ll see just how much he cares about men’s issues.

Idk I think he's playing his cards right for votes. He seems to be very levelheaded in that he wants to fight for equality. He doesn't seem to be an extremist feminist and always focuses on the stats at play. Also all his policies pretty much help everyone so although I identify with the Mens rights movement I still think he is one of the best choices for it.

I just want to point out to people that it looks like we're being brigaded by Yang activists amazingly. The people writing shit about this sub have post history in /r/YangForPresidentHQ and as I suspected they're getting fucking butthurt that the MRAs are calling Yang out on his SJW pandering so they're trying to run a smear campaign on this topic by claiming MRAs are against women etc.

Bring in the downvotes, but as a long-time MensRights member, pretty disappointed by this sub as of late - I think if we all agree that Yang is a piece of shit and is a cuck because he talked to his wife (who will be taking care of their two boys and be a supportive wife - isn't that a far cry from the overall wearing aggressive feminists???) about running for president, then this sub needs to have a long hard look at itself.

He made a few humorous remarks, did some self-depreciating jokes about men, and we all screech and REEEEE like we are fucking Big Red at a Jordan Peterson meetup. He is a smart guy - he knows that he has to appeal to everyone in order to stand a chance, as most of his supporters currently are mostly young and mostly men. Also OP manages to omit the rest of what Yang said - he said we need both strong men and women leaders in the country (but of course, if this sub has turned to 'fuck women and kill them all' I can see how this may trigger you guys), and also touched upon one of the biggest problems for men - we are seen as human doings while women are seen as human beings. Yang's pitch for UBI is that so everyone (yes, men AND women) has INTRINSIC value - men and women are human beings instead of an economic tool.

Do I agree with everything he says? No. His circumcision stance is disappointing, and such a barbaric practice should be outlawed everywhere. But do I think he is a piece of shit just for a few off-colour remarks? No. Because I am not a fucking rainbow-haired feminist screeching to cancel someone because they said something I did not agree with.
