It was business transaction the actresses agreed to, and apparently got paid because he backed his disgusting offers up, which is why so many desperate actresses took him up on it.

This whole thing seems like it is working against actual rape victims. I know some women are put off reporting these crimes to police. But if you won't report it, it makes it difficult for it to be believable. Especially when the accused raper is a famous person. I mean, yes, he's a sleaze. He *looks* like someone who is a sleaze. But he still deserves a fair go at the law. I mean, say what you want but he built a successful film company and lost it all. Yet to be convicted of anything.

Just another example of people assuming guilt before the evidence comes out. Being a sleaze isn't a crime. I'm almost on the side of these accusations should remain confidential til proven. I'd be terrified if someone accused me of rape years after the fact. How would a normal guy prove their innocence?

Apparently the "victim" here had a 4 year relationship with Weinstein and her thanking him. Does anyone have a source for actual emails that were release? I heard that they are available to the public but i cant find them.

Edit: There's this too. Prosecutor and the detective telling witnesses what to say. The prosecutor and detective also knew about the emails and didnt say anything until the defense asked for them in court. This sucks for the two other woman involved on this case and the 80+ others that came forward if any of them were actually sexually abused by Wienstein.

Somebody can still be raped by a loved one. Ever heard of marital rape? If a person says no to sex, and their boundaries are violated, its rape, regardless of their relationship.

I'm not saying one side or the other is right in this dispute, but the title of this post seems to imply that the emails do anything to prove Weinstein's innocence or the accuser's truthfulness, which just isn't the case. Another way to interpret the emails could be: "If she loved him and they had a relationship, why would she try to ruin his career without cause?"
