I think if your ex-wife cheated on her previous fiance then her betrayal was inevitable. That's an enormous red flag and it sucks this information has remained hidden for many years. People like the old AP don't have rational thinking. He probably acts like a simp and puts your ex-wife on the pedestal and supports her financially. I don't think he perceives that your ex-wife is a single mother who cheated on her husband (+ the ex-fiance before you). The dude probably thinks he is some kind of winner because he has a young girlfriend. There is a high chance that your ex is already cheating on this clown, but she just hides it better and keeps the old fool as an ATM to support her financially.

I think your situation is much much better because being a single dad is not a disadvantage. Another thing is if you can date a younger, prettier girl. That's another gut punch to your ex because it just shows that you can easily replace her with a younger, prettier woman. It hurts their ego very much. If the old dude leaves her then she won't have a lot of options for a serious relationship. I think most guys wouldn't date a woman who cheated on her ex-husband.

Well first of all, what you worry about him dating her, let them thats 2 cheaters out of the board. And if you also remember what the member of her extended family told you about AP and your Ex the part of " about the awkward scheisse show the party ", she was embarased to show or introduce him to her family. That tells you everything to now about their relationship.

When 2 cheater try to form a relationship, most of the fail at most at the 5 year mark (or less)

So you better continue with the fun with the kids and the fun of your newly single life with the online dating.

I can't imagine being with someone who condones and endorses my cheating. That would be such a huge red flag. But I guess cheaters also hate accountability and never accept that they've done anything wrong.

I went to a pastor when my wife cheated and found out that he had cheated on his wife. He stopped talking to me because my situation made him face his, and he couldn't do it. Cheaters are scum, especially self-proclaimed men of God who do it. Don't hail yourself as a religious leader if you can't lead by example.

Does it matter?

In grade school, I had some really incompetent teachers. They tried to teach me incorrectly, but I learned otherwise. They are probably still grade school teachers, but that doesn't bother me.

As you grow, you'll learn it doesn't matter whether they are dumb, incompetent, etc. Don't give them free rent in your thoughts. Keep growing.

In all of the research I've done after my wife had an emotional affair, I found a really surprising statistic online that 87% of women polled in this survey would cheat if it means they were never caught. Cheating stats are kind of depressing.

They're operating with the same mentality of every person getting married. They're all facing the same divorce rates and statistics but they all think "that'll NEVER happen to me / us" and "she cheated on THAT person because they didn't do xyz".

Try to talk some sense into these folks and they almost always get defensive and / or have their eyes glaze over. People aren't looking for objective truth. They listen for anything that'll confirm their beliefs and biases.
