Honestly not certain what path we’re headed down. Our first session she dominated the conversation, barely let me speak and when I did, she interrupted me every time. Therapist told us to come solo before we come back together.

She had her session at 6, me at 8. Therapist revealed that our actions are both out of fear. I fear confrontation/am confrontation averse. I don’t respond well to it. I also feel like my wife bitches about every single little mistake to the point where I don’t want to do anything because why listen to the complaints?

Therapist said she revealed in her session that she has never failed at anything (absolutely not true) which is what her fear stems from. She said the way I avoid doing things because of criticism and the way she thinks she doesn’t make mistakes usually go hand in hand. A lot of things are starting to make sense. Again, I don’t know where this is headed. I’ve told her in the past she’s too critical of mistakes I make and I am not that way with her to which she always gaslights me and asks me to tell her when she made a mistake (which I don’t keep mental note of because who gives a damn? It’s life. We all fuck up now and then.)
