We were having a conversation about me dating. I was indulging the conversation at first, but then she started saying how the divorce was entirely my fault and that I took no accountability. I said no it’s not entirely my fault, we both did things to get us here. Me finding out she had been having an emotional affair and in fact spent a few hours with the guy was enough for me to say I’m done.

I told her today it took both of us to get here. A relationship is 2 people. I was admittedly checked out for the last 9-12 months due to depression. According to her I was never present so at that point I told her I didn’t want to discuss this anymore, I have been discussing it in therapy and owning up to not being a great husband. I again reiterated that I didn’t want to talk anymore and went and sat in my office. She followed me and kept pressing me so I got on my laptop and started scrolling. She proceeded to knock my laptop to the ground and tell me I’m emotionally abusing her by not talking. I just said I don’t want to talk about this 2-3x.

At this point she said I need to call my parents who are 6 hours away to come get me because she’s calling the police. I told her I’m not leaving and went to the second bedroom where I’ve been staying and locked the door. She busted the door down, broke the frame, and started taking my clothes and putting them into a duffel bag. I called her mom to calm her down, didn’t work.

I called a friend to come get me and explained the situation to him and his wife (who’s friends with my STBXW). She said STBXW has been lying on me for months and that I should stay in the house just in case she tries to get a protective order. I told her now I don’t feel safe because she’s being irrational and I can’t even lock the door.

I asked the ex what she was going to tell the cops and she said that I was emotionally abusing her. That’s not a crime dodo. Me telling you I don’t want to have this conversation anymore is not a crime. You know what is? Knocking my laptop to the ground. I have recording of her admitting to these things just in case she tries something. I also have proof of the affair which she thinks I’ve deleted.

We spoke to our realtor in order to get the ball rolling on the listing, but in the meantime I may just find a place that has 2-3 months free for rent. We should have a settlement date by then hopefully.
