Bittersweet. Divorce was finalized last week after a 10 month process. Very condensed story: 10 years together, 5 married, no kids. I loved her so much, but, in the beginning of 2025, she started a GLP-1, weird comments about other men followed, deleted Ring/Blink home camera footage while I was away, confronted her on it, I witnessed the "switch flip". She immediately filed for divorce and moved out of the home a month later. No remorse, no empathy, nothing. We had a date night together the night before that deleted footage BTW. Even went to a lawn/garden store she wanted to go to and we visited my parents that day. She was acting happy and "normal" minus the comments about other men.

She took no photos with her when she left.

Now that the divorce is final, and the judge said she can't come back to claim anything, I am sitting here with a glass of whiskey, a cigar, and watching all of our photos, wedding stuff etc, burn in a rusty 55 gallon drum.

Tragic, as I never would have imagined this is how it would end. I reflect on her saying "marriage is just a piece of paper" after she filed. I look at a piece of wall art that I just tossed in the drum that she bought. It said "I choose you. And I'll choose you over and over and over. Without pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat. I'll keep choosing you.". Clearly, that meant nothing to her.

It's been a rough road for me. Still in therapy trying to process it all. My therapist had me take an attachment style test. I lean heavily secure. Therapist believes ex was a fearful avoidant and possibly borderline personality disorder. I wasn't perfect but, I was faithful, loyal and I loved her so much. She never communicated her built up resentment. In the end, she most likely cheated, quit on the marriage when confronted, and then tried to ruin me financially.

Good riddance.
