We separated last April, finalized later in October. It was uncontested. I fought for the marriage up until she said, while brushing her teeth, "The only thing I want from you is to not be your wife any longer". When she brought up grievances from high school, I knew there was no hope to save it.

That was April 17th, filed on the 18th. She moved out on the 20th.

We were together since we were 15, 23 years in total. It gets easier, but there was a period of time where the concrete telephone poles looked inviting as I drove to work.

I won though.

I have the house. I am the primary for our kid who is 15. Retirement intact. She simply walked away.

I don't feel like I won.

It was very difficult to go from talking everyday to talking only when it is about our schedules have to match.
