I took my ring off about 1 week later, but wore it on a chain around my neck. Much back and forth from there, I ultimately said we should terminate and took it week 2 of the separation. She talked me into on more try, and then about 4 months later I filed for divorce.

Ultimately through the ring out the window of a plane (over an unpopulated mountain)

I stopped wearing my wedding ring during my first year of marriage when it almost degloved me. It's still in my wallet, a little bent from where the machine caught it, and the scar is still on my finger and will be for life. I'm kind of wondering if I should get it repaired now. I took my marriage seriously and never abandoned my vows even when her treatment of me became very hard to bear. It's a beautiful silver ring with Gaelic traditional designs.
