I'm here because my ex fiance turned redpill and started shaming me for being "masculine." I started feeling low about myself...even bought a femininity course because I thought something was wrong with me.

This forum practically saved the little sanity I left.

Also there is a group called redpill woman. Men and woman can be ex redpill.

For former redpillers and others who recognize the damage caused by redpill. If you are brigading from another subreddit you will be banned.

From the sub description. Women can technically be redpilled, and you dont need to have been to recognize the damage it causes.

But like, if this whole place was just men who'd been redpilled, then it's just another echo chamber. You'd think, if you really are trying to change your mindset about women, that you'd be happy to have some advice and input from the perspective of actual women?

I don't find your question offensive like you said in your post, but I do find you suspicious. The fact that you claim to be ex redpill but still make sweeping assumptions about women. I think you still have work to do.

I used to moderate a sub that attracted some very redpill types, and I subbed to have access to the helpful links posted on the front page.

I like helping people who are trying to see women as people and not some crazy sub-species of hypergamous monkey-branchers and gold-diggers. By, you know, being a real women with my own experiences and thoughts.

I'm here because I think having a woman's actual perspective can be useful for men who are trying to think critically about red pill ideas.
I don't 'gain' anything beyond having conversations with people who I think need to feel they're being listened to, even if I don't agree with them. Listening and discussing is better than ignoring or shouting down.
You've replied to others all about how women here are 'lying' which is oddly hostile. Myself and I think many of the others here have been quite straightforwardly honest with our thoughts, wants and opinions.
'Before you inevitably downvote my post or try to get me banned on here, as yourself why does this post upset you so much' - This feels like a needlessly negative assumption and based on the comments you seem much more upset that many of us. So I guess, why is that?

So I'll answer, but first -- I dunno if you realize, but your tone is super combative. This may be a function of age (I'm guessing you're young?), but do you want to have an answer/discussion or do you want to be right/argue? You come off quite often as the latter.

Internalized misogyny is the answer. I think FDS (which many see as a female equivalent to redpill, which I view as a fair comparison) terms it "pickmeisha"-- someone who whittles themselves down in order to be the "cool girl," who isn't called out and belittled by men. Once you have that sort of internal critic, who's trying to make you fit in with the guys, it's easy to let other beliefs about women filter in, until you believe much of the redpill ideology.

My honest question to you is, why are you on this sub? You don't seem to really fit with the first two letters in it.

I like to provide a female perspective on things. A lot of men in these spaces go their whole lives convinced that women only think one way. TRP does a good job of reinforcing that fear by telling guys that if all women are the same, and you have had bad luck with women in the past, that you have no reason to believe things will get better. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. They promise quick fixes to complicated issues that just seem to make men more miserable in the long run. I’m here to let guys know that there’s hope and to not hang their entire existence on the interest of women.

Hah you sound pretty mad I don’t see why you’d be downvoted or sassed.

I started following this to understand more about redpill and people who leave it. Redpill things feel confusing and sometimes kinda scary to me. Maybe I also liked the idea that some people were leaving the redpill or at least the kind of negative aspects (with my blear bias) or was curious about that conversation or what that looked like for some people. And if I can give a perspective too, as a lot of the redpill guys are interested in women and hey, I’m one of those! I can share a perspective from this side of things, maybe that can help somebody sometimes too.

Anyway I just joined one day. Don’t think much of it and don’t really look that often overall. Sometimes it’s interesting to see what people feel and deal with though. Why do you join the groups you join?

Im a woman and honestly Im here to understand this social phenomena and look for red flags in the guys in my life. Its really easy for people especially men to fall down this line of thinking because of social media exposure that radicalises them. I also used to research and did my masters on culture that perpetuates sexual violence and I tend to notice themes that i wrote about years ago. I also come from a very dysfunctional patiarchal community and family system and genuinely want to understand this kinda thinking to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma in my life.

Red pill isn’t easily described and can be very vague. You could tell someone you believe the statistic that half of all marriages end in divorce, and get labeled a red pill.

The real problem is vagueness. It’s like feminism or even politics. These are massive over-arching groups that can or cannot encapsulated many very common ideals.

One thing you gotta understand about people is that most of them aren’t very rational. You can never judge a group of people by “that doesn’t make sense,” because look at the world. Who is making sense out there? It’s all a madhouse. The best you can do is try to empathize and relate to people. And not police them.

Some of us are non binary but the red pill thinks nonbinary doesnt exist, so Im pleased to sit in the checkbox marked female while the red pill marvels at how I dont fit that box at all well.

I guess if you only have pink and blue socks but then you put all the red orange white and lavender socks in with the pink ones youll eventually say "damn theres a lot of pink socks"..compared to blue ones.

Especially if its "pink" just coz its not blue.

Ok so I did my MA thesis on RP/ the mansophere. Being so deep in the content, you can't help but take some things to heart. It was the community I was most immersed in for 2 years, and came to internalize some of the beliefs about women, developed this fear of aging and inevitable obsolescence, questioning how I was in my relationship and if I was doing shit wrong etc. It was baffling how I managed to attract so many great men despite being pretty assertive, not submissive, and very goal-oriented. I wasn't this soft spoken pushover virginal Mary that RP frames desirable women as being... I've managed to attract some pretty fabulous guys despite my ambitions and assertiveness. But the RP content had me question who I was, fear that I was somehow inadequate and like I was going to expire after I hit my alleged pique at 23 lol.

It also skewed my perception of women and I felt like this total anomaly because I wasn't anything like the women portrayed on these RP podcasts. And despite having amazing friends and only knowing women who are genuinely great people- I started to project these toxic and hateful assumptions onto strangers. I'd question the motivation of others and interpret so much of life through this RP lens.

Being immersed in the content produced by RP gurus, reading the comments, and reading all of the literature about men's movements, online men's movements, and what has been researched about RP groups in the past- I started to take that shit to heart and it messed with my perception in a very real way. Because that was my main research topic for years, and despite teaching on other topics and doing side projects- the RP fucked with me! It also had me questioning why I was attracted to/in love with my man when he did not meet these "Alpha qualities" of making 6 figures, being 6 foot, having amazing social skills, having an abundance of resources etc.

I'm very happy to be finished my MA and doing more productive research that isn't damaging to my mental health. But after finishing my thesis, I needed a reality check and had to detox from the communities because it screws with your perception. Whether you're male or female. So while I am on a woman on this subreddit, I was deeply enmeshed with RP for a long time.

I'm not gonna go into detail but I have had experience with redpill guys. Redpill doesn't live in a vacuum, it has real life consequences and effects on people. Both men and women.
