I'll start off by saying that I am okay if you judge me. But please know that I am just doing what I can to try and protect my friend who is susceptible to falling for terrible & abusive men.

One of my best friends is thinking about dating this guy that she matched with on Tinder. We actually have mutual friends and met up for dinner/games as a group. While talking, he mentioned he had nothing to hide and I asked him to prove it by giving me his phone. I found this conversation he had on Tinder and want to know if he has red flags.

I know it was a bit shitty of me to take screenshots but my friend just got out of a long abusive relationship and I really don't want to see her get hurt again. She's fallen really deeply and really quickly for abusive LVM in the past. They have been talking for about a week now outside of Tinder and she seems to be infatuated already which scares me (but that is her MO). I will say, the conversations she has shown me doesn't have any obvious red flags. He seems to just be trying to get to know her better but I am not experienced in this space.

Full disclosure, I haven't used Tinder to seriously date men before. So I don't have first hand experience on how these Tinder conversations go. That said, there were a couple things I question and would really appreciate the insight of more experienced people here.

  1. Is this considered "lovebombing" where seems too agreeable & put together with the goal of luring her in for validation, sex, etc? How do you tell between a malicious lovebomber vs. someone who is just truly a good person?
  2. Is this type of flirting normal? It seems odd that he will mention things like "we'll start a business together", calling her "babe" and "sexy" in such a short amount of time.
