I'm in a group for people who are getting divorced after being cheated on. A woman there posted that she was trying to reconcile with her husband because the other woman had seduced him and made him cheat.

The other woman is a homeless heroin addict. Her disgusting, dirtbag rapist husband found a desperate woman living on the streets high on heroin and raped her. Maybe he paid her a little bit of money to rape her but it's rape. A woman in that situation is not able to consent to sex with some jackass on vacation. And the idiot wife blames her, not her predator husband. It blows my mind.

I often thought about this and it never made any sense: during my younger years when I was a student at uni, I remember that there was a particular kind of women that used to go to gentlemen’s clubs. It was a rare occurrence, but seeing a woman in the audience would always make the dancers brace themselves for abuse that was about to come. The woman would be typically with a group of men (one of the boys?…) and while most men acted ok most of the time (i.e., kept their hands to themselves, would not attempt to insult the woman), it was almost always a given that the woman: 1. Won’t pay even though she was watching the show, 2. Would have an arsenal of insults about the dancers appearance and try to sound witty, 3. Would often be r*apey, grabbing the dancers and attempting to inflict pain while doing that and trying to also turn it into a joke.

Most dancers were there to earn their money to pay their bills and were certainly not after any dude in the audience. If anything, most dancers knew better than to get into relationships with men - romantic or even just sexual. Most graduated from colleges and unis and have a good life now. They were polite to customers, but would hold their own if anyone attempted to insult or assault them. We could never understand these women customers and what their visits were about, and it felt like a particular kind of betrayal that a woman could be so cruel to someone who is in a vulnerable position as a staff member, someone who’s exposed and someone who’s not going to be taken seriously by the employer or even the police in the instance of assault. 😥

My mother stayed with my father for 20 plus years, he cheated on her seriously 5 times, told her she "wasn't all that and he's lucky he comes home to her each night" and probably had many, many, many more times afterwards. They split and she's hurting, he's dated several different girls. I remember her getting into fights with the women/them provoking her.

I love my mom dearly, she's a wonderful kind woman who put nothing but her best into her marriage and into us. She's finally getting stronger, she's back to dating and cuts off men instantly the minute they treat her like shit. One of the biggest lessons I've learned is I will never let this happen to me, men who cheat will cheat again and again and again. Don't ever wait for abuse, don't wait for gaslighting. The minute he treats you like shit leave and never look back. That's the best thing I've learned so far.

I moved into a share house with a guy once. It was just him and me. I was leaving a LTR and he said the yes, the new house he'd rented was because he too had just left a three year relationship with 'Sue'.

Well over time house mate and I got close and we ended up having sex, more just to get it out of the way and feel less lonely. We liked each other but agreed we weren't going to get together. For a few months it was chill.

Then, one drunken might, he was talking to Sue over the phone and she came over at 2 am and they got back together. I went to bed but I told him ' please don't tell sue about us. She'll never ever hear it from me'. He said he wouldn't. But the next day, Sue was looking daggers at me. He'd told her. He believed in being completely honest. I was horrified because what I feared would happen, did now happen.

For sleeping a few times with a man she'd been involved with, Sue now called me 'slut'. She would ring ( landline days) and say ' Hi slut is Peter there?'. When she left she'd say 'bye darling (to Peter), bye slut!' ( to me).. she got a key made off his key ring and let herself in to the house I paid rent on by time of the day or night and walk past me without saying hello. She ignored me in a group of people so that people wondered what was wrong. Peter obviously spoke to her but one night he got frustrated and had it out with us both. We BOTH (!) needed to sort out our shit and get on or I would have to leave. So in the end cutting a very long story short I did. Inhq'ad an unusual surname and Sue looked it up in the phone book and rang my mother asking. If she knew what a slut I was. Explaining that was hard. Sue kept tabs on me through mutual friends and rang my other share houses, telling my new flatmates I was a slut. In the end the only thing that stopped it was me.moving to another country.

Never once did she blame Peter for having consensual sex with me.

Yeah, the cheater should be canned ASAP. Regardless if the mistress knew he was in a relationship or not. That much is true.

Did mistress know? If yes, it’s really hard not to hate that person with all your being. What you do with that rage though is another subject. Especially if the mistress is sadistic and insecure enough to come after YOU. My mother was cheated on and the mistress was some junkie. The junkie would call my mom (found her number in her boyfriends/my stepdad’s phone) and would CONSTANTLY berate her. Would leave countless voicemails just screaming at the top of her lungs, texting her saying she’s “a horrible mother”, “I can please your man and you can’t” blah blah. Stalked her and it got very scary. It seemed like the mistress had more hatred for my mother than my mother did of her, which is unfathomable. These bottom-feeding pickmes have serious fucking issues.

If no, it’s a wash. She’s a victim too. I was cheated on in high school, and turns out my boyfriend was shitting where he was eating and the girl went to my school. She had no idea she was being lied to. We met up, talked it out, plotted to both dump him by telling him “we found each other, and we’re actually going to date each other instead of you!” He was devastated, wah wah 😩 she and I stayed best friends for years

I stopped a friendship because of that. I was the one witnessing her boyfriend cheating with one of her acquaintances. Went to him and told him, I’ll give him until tomorrow midday, if by then my friend doesn’t call me sobbing, I know he didn’t tell her and I’ll tell her for him. She called in the morning distraught. Well some time passed, she forgave him within a week and they made it a sport to hate the person he cheated with. So I ended the friendship, cause that’s just too dumb. They married a year after and divorced within the first year of marriage. Guess why... he cheated. Shocker. At least she cheated him too I guess.

So, to preface this comment, I’m not proud of this and don’t usually talk about it, but this has always bothered me about it.

When I first started college and started working (still 17 at this time and stupid), I had an older male coworker (I don’t know specifically but at least 27) who turned out to be a manipulative asshole. He took a liking to me, and I’ll admit I found myself attracted to him - it was the first time an older guy was paying attention to me, and I guess it made me feel mature. After we exchanged numbers for shift trades he started texting me more and more. Once I was drunk and shared more than I should’ve about a hookup, and it broke the ice for him to be more open towards me about his attraction. This led to constant flirty texts, and us eventually having sex a couple times.

I knew he had a girlfriend, but he kept playing it off as “it’s normal to have friends you just flirt with” at first, and “well I kinda want to leave her anyways” and “I think she’s cheating on me” when things got physical.

I got in a relationship so things between us ended after only a couple of hookups, until that relationship also imploded about 3 years later. At this point I was 20 and he was around 30, and happened to send a random email to me around the time I was realizing my relationship was done and really emotional. As you can probably assume, we basically just started where we left off, including the girlfriend and excuses. I eventually had an epiphany about 5 months into it and told him I couldn’t do this to her anymore.

I thought that it was all in the past and behind me, until my phone started blowing up from messages from my family almost a year later. The girlfriend had found out, took a nude I sent to him, and sent it to me and my whole immediate family along with copy and pasted sexual conversations and a long message about how I’m a home wrecker and a terrible person.

While I know it was a stupid mistake to make twice and will never ever ever be the other woman again or let him or any NVM manipulate me the way he did, it always bothered me that it was more important to his girlfriend to shame me to my whole family, instead of taking a step back and wondering why her adult boyfriend pursued a physical relationship with someone who was underage when they met. She knew who I was and my age when we first met since she’d come to our work to pick him up constantly.
