Something that I've witnessed multiple times (and experienced myself) is when a guy puts out various signs that he trusts you, that he has feelings for you, and that he wants something more - but when it actually comes down to it, later on denies all of this. Do you guys know what I mean? Is this a form of gaslighting? Because he's leading you on and puts out all of these signals and sometimes even says he's in it for the long run, but denies all of this later. And many women in this situation begin to cling to the 'signs' the guy cares about them and are strung along. Of course the guy is just stringing them along for sex. It starts with the LVM masquerading as a high value man, but as time goes on and he secures your attention and trust, his true colors begin to show.

Something about this feels so manipulative and gross. I feel sick just thinking about it, especially because everyone seems to blame the women for 'misinterpreting things'. I see this most often occuring with young women who are naive and inexperienced.

Is this just gaslighting? What are your guy's experiences with this?
