Look how she says "she's the sensitive one" about her goddamn birthday, when virtually every man under the sun (and all the conditioned, brainwashed and oppressed women) use the word "sensitive" as an insult. It's like saying "crying like a little girl," it gives it a negative connotation because it's been labeled as a feminine attribute/flaw.

Then she internalizes the issue, like the issue is how SHE is sensitive about it, and not HIS issue for being an UNCARING, SELFISH ASSHOLE.

NO. You're not "sensitive" and it's not just a "me" issue! You're UPSET, because HE DOESN'T CARE. Birthdays are fucking important!

My husband bought me something for my birthday, but he ignored me that whole week. Not a word was said. Just because he bought me something expensive doesn't mean anything. I left him a few days later (went looking for apartments first). It's three months until my birthday, and this guy who likes me is getting me something, and we aren't even dating. (I told him I am not dating at least until the divorce is final and probably not until I start graduate school. I'm starting senior year.)

They're always asking themselves these absolutely insane questions. Am I being childish? am I overreacting? when the situation is anywhere from moderately shit to life threatening. Like no, it's not childish to ask a boyfriend you've been with for a long time to remember something as basic as a birthday. If these constant questions don't tell you we've been conditioned to ask for nothing, not expect much, that every single valid complaint is "nagging" then nothing will. Imagine the fucking mental strain it takes to remember one goddamn date in the age of technology where you DON'T ACTUALLY have to remember it if you're that dumb. You have several devices that can tell you a week early that the date is coming, LOSER.

I've met literally ONE guy irl who actually goes out of his way to do stuff like this for his girlfriend. You could tell how much he really loved her not just from the presents, but the way he talked about her and looked out for her. Like, he was trying to set me and her up for a friend date because he liked me and thought we would get along, lol

Ugh i feel this so much. My husband used to get me thoughtful gifts. We got married and he skipped Christmas AND our first anniversary.

No one should have to beg for acknowledgement or a gift on a day where it is socially determined/widespread that people exchange gifts. If he "doesn't do" gifts, he needs to say something. She shouldn't have to explain that gifts are an important expression of thoughtfulness and care in a relationship.
