My cousin dated a woman for 10 years, and they lived together for 8. He was clearly not in love with her and was always looking for "someone better". He finally broke up with her to date another woman, who broke his heart when she dropped him for another guy.

The first woman took him back and then he finally married her. Needless to say, it's been 7 years and his wife treats him like a king while he does nothing and just expects everything.

My ex and I had a conversation where I mentioned that I did not want to be hanging around for 2 years without a ring in the picture and his response was "that's kinda elitist to say," and talked about how he had friends who were together for years prior to getting married and that he wouldn't want to rush into a bad choice since he'd be marrying for life and didn't believe in divorce (i don't either, exceptions being for cheating/abuse).

I knew then that, 8 months into dating, I wasn't his dream girl and needed out.

I find this number so interesting, since I've never felt that I would want to marry the person I'm seeing.

I've been in a couple of one-year-long relationsships, but never felt that that was "it" by then. Is that how you who've met your HV partner have felt? I am pretty sure that my insecurity in my former relationships are because they weren't right for me, but when do us women know when we've found the one? Big question, maybe, but so far I think that that's something I would want to know before dating "the next one".

I am on the fence about marrying again, and would appreciate anyone's insight about it.

My divorce is taking longer than I expected, mainly because my ex keeps stalling on send me his half of the paperwork (I am filing uncontested and need his half.) I just want this all to be done and over with as quickly as possible. Now part of me feels like I don't want to marry again simply because I don't want to go through this process (read as: headache) again. I might be ok with being a "forever gf" if it means I can gtfo whenever I need/want to. No dragging anything out, no waiting on him for paperwork, no goodbyes even. I just want to take my shit and RUN when the time comes.

This, however, leaves me with the mindset that I expect things will not work out though. I don't want to think or feel like that going into my next relationship.

honestly it is for the best. These men shouldn't be marrying anyone. Women should stop being so desperate to marry these absolute losers. Low value is always gonna stay low value. Don't settle.

How do I communicate this message to a friend who ghosted basically all her friends and whose life revolves around her bf (who won't propose)?! I cant just pop up n give unsolicited advice... Or can I?
