I’ll never live with another man I’m not married to because of this. I am using mediation for my divorce and avoiding lawyers JUST to avoid my ex going for the house I BOUGHT ON MY OWN (it’s only in my name, bought it two years ago). He can’t afford a lawyer so I’ve agreed to mediate (even though it will likely draw this divorce out maybe years) and he’s agreed to leave my property and it’s contents alone. Would never marry without a prenup.

Meanwhile, older retired men are just tripping over themselves to get one of these ladies to marry them. These ladies KNOW, that if they marry any of their fellow old men, that they will haev to clean, cook, give therapy and overall play caretaker (and even use their own money for him) until he dies. No thanks.

And that's why older, retired ladies don't move in or marry, they played the game and got burn, did their time, served their nickel. They just date and have fun!

Just curious, they can make a claim THAT EASILY? Wtf. Where I live even if you are married you are not entitled to the property. Documents must be drafted and the spouse has to approve the signing of the other spouse on the house papers to be able to have claim.

When I broke up with my ex, I moved out of my own house (owned by my parents) to stay with friends. My ex lived rent free for two months dragging his feet to get out of the house. It was ridiculous.

That’s all well and good but FDS doesn’t recommend moving in with a boyfriend periodt. Even with a financial contract you’ll likely end up doing more physical and emotional labor or becoming a forever girlfriend.

I think this is not how it works in Europe. When you are just dating or living together the other person does not have rights to your property or money.
