Could have written this myself a few years ago. I didn't get to sleep in for years, no matter how much I begged to have a morning here and there to catch up on sleep.

Thank god I left! Now I sleep in because he has our kid 2-3 nights a week. I have never felt better in my life. Seriously: I had suboptimal thyroid hormone levels after I had our kid and it led to poor metabolism, weight gain, a constant low level of depression, low libido and weird crazy allergic reactions. My doctor said I needed to reduce stress and get more sleep and wanted to put me on lifelong thyroid medication if it didn't get better.

But after I left my LVM and started being able to sleep better because I got a break from childcare, guess what? My thyroid went back to normal. And today all my symptoms are gone and my levels are normal and stable. I haven't felt so good in years.

Never underestimate what a negative influence a LVM can be on your well-being and health.

Oh. My. God. This could’ve been me writing that post 17 years ago. When my husband wanted to sleep in, I packed a diaper bag and left the house with our baby to run errands.

When I needed to sleep in, he would sleep on the couch and leave the baby screaming in her swing for three hours until it was her nap time.

Also, I have hypersomnia (oversleeping) due to BPD and brain-damange and my husband gets there kids up, fed, organised for online schooling, loads the dishwasher and then WFH, whilst I sleep unmolested.
