This approach to men issues on the left will never work.

As much as I like Aba and Preach. This Jubilee video ain't it.

I knew I wouldn't trust this guy in the Jubilee video before even watching. Because Jubilee picked him for this conversation. I don't trust Jubilee to pick right people, based on their terrible track record with men issues.

This guy does the classic "positive masculinity" trope in the video with his "men need better role models." comment. We all know "positive masculinity" is just traditional masculinity with a feminist gaze. Therefore the "better role model for young boys" comment is just a dog whistle for young boys to have one-sided relationships with women, where they become doormats who work stressful jobs.

This type of shit makes men issues worse. Because it's the same issues being repackaged as something good (I.E. "positive masculinity").

He does some gaslighting in the video too. He says women are attracted to men who like them. And says the manosphere men hates women. When in reality, this is not 100 percent true. Because on average women are attracted to conventionally attractive men, or men who have status or good careers. Therefore men who don't like women can still be successful with women, if they have traits women find attractive on average. I know this is a duh movement. But due to constant gaslighting of young men. We are excepted to pretend like this reality don't exist for young men on the left.

Because we must maintain the "women are wonderful". This mindset creates a lot of problems for men in society. Since this toxic mindset associates women's preferences with morality. Therefore men are considered bad people or losers for not living up to women's standards. Creating a society, where young boys think something is wrong with them, if they can't get female attention.

This guy also does the "manosphere men are secretly gay" BS in this video too. Implying that some of them could be gay, since they hate women. The homophobia towards men on the left is way too normalized. Some people on the left literally associate misogynistic men or women haters with gay/bi men. That's actually fucked up.

When the left engages with men's issues like this. They become no different from the right or manosphere. Two sides of the same coin. Both sides telling men how they need to improve to get attention from women.

Notice how any conversation about helping men, always turns out be about how men can be better for women. The conversations usually have nothing to do with helping men. Which is ironic.

Hot take. I understand that all women are wonderful angles who can do no wrong. But women don't necessarily have a man's best interest in heart. Because some women have traditional expectations for men. Even the feminist ones have these traditional expectations too. The way people on the left like this guy in the Jubilee video frame these talking points. They do it in a way where what women want for men is considered the best solution for men's issues. Because again women expectations are equated to morality in society. And again women expectations for men can still be bad for men.

This is what "positive masculinity" or "rOle mOdEl" is based on.

In conclusion.

The answer is simple young boys need to be taught individualism in society. They need to know that they don't need validation from others (in this case female validation" in order for them to have self-worth in society. In other words men need to be taught to decenter women.
