Alternative solution:

Be a good judge of character and be a decent human being yourself.

It isn't that hard to avoid assholes if one knows what to look for, and it doesn't take much to figure that out (even if they fake a lot at first; there's no way to avoid those sorts of pretenders).

People just gotta realize that life isn't going to always go the way that you want it to, and you just have to hope for a bit of fortune every now and then and do the best you can. Shitty people are unavoidable, especially when it comes to relationships. Everyone gets a few bad eggs.

At least if you were good throughout the relationship, if it turned out you got involved with an asshole, you'll have that on your side and in your thoughts. Otherwise, you were both just assholes.

While not very good, this isn't nearly as bad as the title would suggest. Only "send in a spy" is really negative.

Fake sick, fake crisis, and (purposefully) forget condoms are all certainly manipulative, but not of a really significant manner.

Wear heels and fake an orgasm is more along the lines of good advice.
