All of these lists are bullshit. No one should be making a gendered list of how you treat someone in a relationship based on whether you're a man or a woman. The list should just be: 10 things to do so you aren't a douche. Acting like men and woman have different expectations from a relationship at all just reinforces negative stereotypes.

A bit off topic: I have trouble parsing some sentences:

In 2), "than" should be "then"
In 4), you use "it" to "connect" two sentences. There is no referent for that "it". I suggest "That it is socially unacceptable for men to signal distress does not mean that they don't have feelings."
In 5), "Nothing is worse when ..." should be "Nothing is worse for men than putting a lot of effort into a date which is then labeled 'boring'" or something like that.
In 6), "Plan B" should be capitalised
In 7), "from" is the wrong preposition. Use "by". Also, "expects nothing in return".
10) has problems. I suggest "It is very annoying for most men to come across your frequently posted lists in which you demand to be treated like royalty. If you want to be treated like a princess, act like one.

This was made to make fun of a post here earlier, not seriously, but its things like this that make us look bad. No, I don't think this is a particularly bad list - quite the opposite, I agree with a lot of it - but the way it's worded makes it seem like all women do these things and have to be reminded of them, which is clearly not true. Not only that, it's just plain hypocritical. 9 says don't stereotype, then 10 turns right around and says all women frequently act like princesses. If it was gender neutral, just 10 things you should do in a relationship, then it'd look much better.

In fact, that's what we should make and share, a gender neutral version of this list. I feel that this is an egalitarian community, and combating gender stereotypes with more gender stereotypes is not the way to do it.

TL;DR - DON'T SHARE THIS.

This seems like okay advice for people in general, not just women. But I have not seen the original list that this is a response to.

That said, what is up with number 6? Don't send mixed signals? Sometimes when you're getting to know someone, you aren't sure whether the relationship is going to end up as a friendship or something more. "Mixed signals" are often a result of this uncertainty, and will generally work themselves out, albeit awkwardly at times.

I get that a person should not purposely string someone along or keep them as a backup plan, but the wording of this implies that you have to decide upon meeting someone whether or not you are going to have a romantic relationship with them, and then act accordingly in all interactions with that person.

Plus, any person should have the right to change their mind at any point during the courting/flirting/dating process. Flirting with someone does not mean that you have to continue to flirt with them, date them, or sleep with them.

This should actually be titled: Things EVERYONE should do in a relationship. Both people should assist in paying for dates, bills, etc. Both should treat sex with respect and love, and be open with the other about expectations. And TALK about it. Both should admit when they are wrong. Both should understand that feelings are normal to human beings, and neither side should prosecute the other side for having them. Both should lead dates, both should be up front about everything, thank each other, and realize that people have flaws.

Why is it so difficult for people to understand that expecting something of a specific gender is so idiotic? All men are different. All women are different. They are people - and all people should treat each other with respect, especially if you are in a relationship with the potential of spending your lives together.

This sounds like it was written by someone that has had a couple of tepid online dating experiences and is butthurt by the results. As a male, this fucking thing PAINS me to read. Posting this on your Facebook wall or whatever SCREAMS that you have a fuck-ton of baggage and are not date-worthy.
