I had forgotten this song existed.

So basically, these two girls are friends.

One of the girls gets hit by her husband, she files for divorce, but apparently he ignores a restraining order and hits her again.

Now, of course, this is the country music trope that people born in small towns have no options.

But girl A tells girl B, "Hey, I've basically been getting beaten up by my husband." Then girl B is like, "Oh, OK, bet. Why don't we murder him?"

Now, even if you gave them the benefit of the doubt here and this guy was a scumbag, beating his wife just because he enjoyed it, there's still the rule of law. You can't just murder someone simply because you want to.

And also, even thinking about the ethics of this, there is no country in the world where physically beating someone gets you the death penalty.

So both of these girls decide that this guy needs to be murdered so they conspire to poison his coffee.

And I get that these issues can be kind of complicated sometimes, but if this song was reversed and a man decided to murder his wife that was beating him, the outrage would be through the roof.

The band would get cancelled, lose gigs and millions of dollars but women can get away with this because of female/pretty privilege.
