The amount of times I hear people try to deflect the conversation to my post history or the fact that I'm in a sub like this is telling of who you are, not who I am.

To me, it says "you got me cornered in the argument, and I have nothing better to contribute, so I'm going to punch up and not fight fair."

I’ve been through it quite a few times. I’m the only one providing any facts and they seem to be so butthurt about reality not fitting their biased expectations.

And just like you said, I’ve even had people pulling a Mao Zedong on me by downvoting and shitting on me for simply being in this subreddit and in r/antifeminists. Not to mention resorting to relying on mere anecdotes, trying to roast me or using childish insults after running out of facts (which would all get a ton of upvotes by their deranged peers). And yet, they still think I’m the one who has problems.

Not trying to be that guy, but debating with a certain group of people in certain threads can honestly be perfectly portrayed by the court scene from the movie Idiocracy.

People have become so fragile that they will auto ban you for being on certain subs. It's crazy how those subs are really anti-fascism but practice the good old fashioned mass two-steps ahead censorship.

I've had many thoughts of leaving reddit on multiple occasions. It's all just echo Chambers. There's no room for debate on this platform. It all depends on which sub you go to, but there is no "frontline" for which ideas can be expressed within a middle ground.

Unfortunately mens rights seems to have become a buzzword or 'dog whistle' as the kids like to say for being some kind of nazi.

It just seems mad to me as the concept of mens rights is so innocent at its core (men have some issues women dont face and need a space/ advocacy group just like women do, simple as) but has been twisted to suit various peoples agendas.

I try not to argue with anyone on reddit these days as its like 99% self righteous loons for one cause or another.

Noone wants to understand or love. People really deep down want to hate and having a "them' in this case mens rights groups makes their hatred and bloodlust justified because were a them.

It is useful on reddit to have multiple accounts. That way people can't use ad-hominem attacks against me for my participation in other subreddits.

Note: Do NOT use your other accounts to vote on posts by any of your accounts, and DON'T use your other accounts to stack up votes on any posts you like/dislike. Reddit isn't opposed to multiple accounts, but they do take a hard line at vote manipulation from using multiple accounts. I try not to even visit the same subreddits with my different accounts.

It sounds like standards of logical argument, consistency and principle are not applied to the people that you are arguing with.

I like to keep that in mind before I write my 2nd response to any of them.

To me only happend once an the way I played them out was by asking what is wrong with this sub. They mostly won't have an answer or arguments will make little sense eg."because this sub is misogynistic". Most people will fail at some level to justify their claims. There is a few of those which just want to be hateful and you should just point it out to them and ignore. All other cases should be solvable by logical debate.

Also if you visit top subs in size you'll meet the worst people. The further you go from them, the more reasonable people get. Just like other social sites - the more popular, the worse the audience.

Proper response: men's suicide rate, arrest/conviction/sentencing rate for similar crimes, whichever you like and which may [or not] have relevance to the discussion. At the end of the comment: "these are why I support men's rights. What's your excuse not to?"
Usually you'll get some support that way, not saying you won't get downvotes, you will, but at least you've made people think a little. Realistically, who cares about imaginary internet awards anyway? The only irritating part is having to wait to reply.

Reddit is not a place for debates. By it's very nature of hidding comments with downvotes it will create a space where the "approved community" opinion will be allowed.

If you find a sub that values free speech and you can have normal conversations with people without getting downvoted to oblivion, good on you... Be sure to not do the same practice that you do not like yourself.

It's happened to me a bit. In the beginning I was frustrated, but I don't give a shit anymore. I know that I'm not here to bash women or fight against their rights. I know that men have genuine issues which need to be addressed, and that this isn't some covert pipeline to the alt-right or whatever.

If creeps want to stalk my profile instead of respond to my comments, I'll just call them out on it, leave a parting rebuttal, and walk away. They're trying to bully you into submission, but that doesn't mean you need to give in.

It used to be they'd accuse you of raping them, stalking them or being a pedophile. Then they'd appeal to get you kicked off the web site because you're a stalker / rapist / harassing women.

It's the online equivalent of using privilege and violence to settle the debate (force, that is).

It's like how Libertarians say communism "doesn't work" because communism was defeated by violence. When you can't win by logic, use violence to silence everyone else, and then simply declare that you won the argument.

State your rooted in misogyny or an Incel, makes for a piss poor argument just for being in a community that tries to give advice and help to other men.

But that’s the state of things I guess. When it comes to subs like this, they’ll take one super outlandish comment made by one person affiliated with this or any similar subreddits and use that as a pretext to shut anything down relating to it.

Reddit used to be a really nice place to discuss new ideas and controversial topics but now it’s all a dog pile up because you don’t think or act in line with social issues you see flaws in.

I got banned for being in a "incel subreddit"from the r/offmychest sub from commenting on a post here that could of very well been appropriate to post on that sub about a guy not liking the stigma around platonic affection among friends and men and he was touch starved. I found it ironic.

Honestly though, why even try debating these people? It's literally a waste of brainpower. I debate people but usually it's people that are on more right leaning subs because they can handle a good debate and can usually handle losing as well. Debating people on other subs, particularly left leaning subs is just unproductive, all of this information is out there for people to easily find, they are willfully ignorant and do not care about facts and logic. Leftist positions are mostly positions based on emotions, logic and facts don't come into the picture besides as a way to say "we have the facts on our side!" proceed to quote facts that have been debunked ad nauseum, even by people on the left

I was in a science sub, discussing the potential academic fraud/errors of someone. Some people attacked me for having posted in here. According to them I had no scientific credibility, because I was somehow involved in this sub. No discussion on the foundation of the issue. The mistakes/fraud made were however crystal clear.
