I don’t care if 100% of men are in STEM jobs, as long as the process of getting jobs is fair. Same goes the other way. I don’t care if all construction workers are men, or vice versa. Here’s why. To get a job you have to want it and apply for it. A person makes a choice based on free will to pursue a field. If women don’t wanna pursue construction, fine. If men don’t wanna become nurses, fine. As long as the process of being hired is fair for every individual, we shouldn’t give a crap how many men and women are in any field, as long as they are the best at their job. We shouldn’t have job quotas, as they guarantee jobs to a specific gender for no reason other than statistics. Just because primarily men work in STEM doesn’t mean the hiring process is unfair or gives women a disadvantage. If anything it’s the other way around. Because there’s such a push for “diversity”, women are being hired in favor of higher qualified men because employers want a certain amount of women. The last time I checked, making any decision based on race, sex, gender, or age is discrimination and is outlawed by the 14th amendment which gives everyone EQUAL PROTECTION under the law. There are also countless job discrimination acts, that apparently only apply when there are too many qualified men being employed. As such, the whole concept of gender Equity is unconstitutional and ridiculous and judges people by their gender and broad historical context and not their character and abilities.
