Here's what pisses me off. I'm in a situation where I did not want children and my ex fiance tried to force fatherhood on me when her birth control failed. I wanted to put the baby up for adoption fir many reasons. All I heard the whole time was "you're selfish", "her body, her choice" the usual BS. I know damn well if the roles were switched and if she were to say "I don't want to be a mother" and aborted the baby, people would say "well, she wasn't ready" or "you can't force her to be a mother".

Its a terrible double standard. I would have never gone after her for child support. No one should be forced to be a parent. After doing my research, I found out I can legally get off child support too. I just have to find where to start. I work my ass off and I deserve to take my money home.

Here's what pisses me off even more, I have a close friend who now has to fight to see his son and get custody of his son just because the mom is being spiteful. Its killing him inside. When men actually want to be fathers, now women make it harder for them to do so. I'm so tired of it. This needs to change.

something I learnt from organisation MIND( mental health organisation)

when they meet a client who needs help they check their background.

if they have become separated and have children and are over 40 the risk for suicide goes up( mind will request the name of their GP in order to inform them if they see any signs). these men are assessed before every session to look out for warning signs. If these men have been subjected to domestic violence by their partner the risk goes up even higher and the "staff" have to be extra vigilant when working with them.

I went to a workshop run by the local authorities for male DV victims( surprise , surprise) and found there only two men ( most people have great difficulty in attending due to the stigma they feel ). I found one had lost his kids and had been coerced( gaslighted) by his wife into killing himself. he was very lucky the police found him in time. But he had to go into a crisis centre and on medication to help him cope( he did appear quite "high")

my point being is that men never quite recover as well as they should( as anyone should) because of the way they are treated by society ( especially the "actors" who have their own agenda rather than the betterment of DV victims or survivors)

if this were any group who were deliberately held back from healing and recovery from an abusive situation there would be public outcry, but unfortunately there are people who sacrifice others well-being for the benefit of their own personal gain ( power, money and status)

My ex gf forced herself on me multiple times over the corse of 2 years. Even times when I specifically said no to her request, she would do things go me without my consent. These didn't just hurt me emotionally but often physically as well. There was one time in particular that she caused so much stress to my jaw that it still occasionally will pop today. I never delete any messages, and I keep all receipts for even small purchases. I was falsely accused before, and the only thing that actually proved I was innocent were texts of her yelling at me, and receipts from out of town showing that I was nowhere near my accuser during the time and day she claimed.

It sucks that we have to have such proof since our merit and story holds no weight when compared to baseless accusations.

I have triple generation suicides from my grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather :( men also have a more likely chance of getting murdered.. these are important issues that should be addressed. I told my mom it was wrong of her to have me circumcised at birth. She went on to explain it's wrong to do it to females but its ok for males because its preventing cancer and besides the head is the most sensitive part of the penis. That felt so dehumanizing. Can I be honest here, I feel like we’re making progress. A lot of woman centric subreddits like r/feminism and r/twoxchromosomes have literally changed their narrative from “men can never be a victim” to something like “don’t bring up men’s issues on women’s day which is a day where women are celebrated and they are the center of attention. If you really want to talk about men’s issues talk about it on other days too as opposed to just on women’s day. Yes men can be raped too, but that doesn’t invalidate women’s issues“. Which I largely agree with except for the strawman , I consider this a small win. We should have this as our safe space where we can discuss men’s issues. Although I don’t agree that we only talk about men’s issues during women’s day - there’s some massive generalization there.
