TRP’s goal would be for every sexually unfulfilled member to reach his full potential and be having as much sex as he wants, whenever he wants, with whomever he wants, in whatever manner he wants. This is one reason TRP says don’t get into relationships and certainly don’t get married. They prefer the “plate” model which is, essentially, several women in rotation that you sleep with and see on your terms, whom you do not commit to and whom are easily exchangeable with a new “plate” if you get bored/she acts up/whatever.

I am not denying that this seems like an ideal sexual strategy for a man who is primarily interested in having frequent sex with a variety of women without having to invest. Clearly, it is. But the key word here is “ideal.” It is unrealistic to believe that the majority of men who come to TRP will ever even remotely attain this, much less keep this up throughout their lifespan. Seeing as how TRP is about the “hard truth,” I am confused as to why they would openly reject/criticize relationships, especially if the ultimate goal is for men to have more sex. Reality dictates that relationships are a solid route to go with for (at least) the following three reasons:

  1. Married men have more sex than single men in all walks of life. According to a comprehensive sexual behavioral study released in 2010, which looked at 5,865 people between the ages of 14 and 94:

Their study revealed that less than five percent of singles between the ages of 25 and 59 have sex two-to-three times a week, while a quarter of married people do—five times the rate. Also, while 61 percent of singles reported that they hadn’t had sex within the past year, only 18 percent of married people said the same.

A study done by the Kinsey Institute found different numbers but came to the same conclusion:

Married men have more sex than single men do. It's a fact -- supported by study after study. A study done by the Kinsey Institute, for example, suggests that 23% of non-married men periodically go a year without sex, while only 1% of married men experience 12-month dry spells. Similarly, while 19% of single guys have sex two to three times a week, 36% of married men have sex that often. So, while single guys are out at the clubs, spending their paychecks just to get a girl's attention, married men are home having sex with their wives.

A University of Chicago study came to the same conclusion:

A University of Chicago study established that married couples have more sex than their single counterparts. Married couples have 25% to 300% more sexual activity than non-married people, depending on age. 43% of married men reported having sex at least twice a week, while only 1.26% of single men, not cohabitating, had sex that often. Single men are 20% more likely to be celibate than married men.

“The people who have the most sex and are happiest with their sex lives are monogamous couples.” from a book also done by researchers at the University of Chicago.

It appears to be undeniable that men in committed relationships have more sex than single men.

2). Perpetual bachelorhood has low FTO (future-time-orientation). If you choose perpetual bachelorhood while you are in your prime, by the time you change your mind, or as you try and replace your plates, all the “good” wives/women might be taken. Of course this isn’t reason alone to get married, but it’s important to keep in mind. Also, you’re probably not going to have children because I doubt Miss Plate #5 is interested in bearing your child if you aren’t willing to invest in a romantic and parental relationship with her. Call me selfish but one reason I want to have kids is because I enjoy family and don’t want to be alone when I get old. Family grows more and more important as you age.

  1. You can seek loyalty from a mate and be disloyal at the same time, but it’s unrealistic. One thing commonly seen from TRPers is that they want their women loyal. Fair, I want my man loyal as well. However, it’s unrealistic to ask a plate to be faithful to you while you get to fuck around with several other women and have her answer be “yes.” If you are not one of those men who values loyalty, I suppose this factor really wouldn’t be an issue for you.

In sum, I understand why TRP would say to men: relationships give you less power and freedom and that includes less sexual power and sexual freedom. Personally, I do not believe the majority of relationships are as grim as TRP believes, but I will give this one to you, TRP. When in a relationship, you have less power and freedom.

What I do not understand is why TRP would categorically deny relationships as a solid sexual strategy for men seeking to have an active sex life. So, TRP, CMV. Why are relationships a poor sexual strategy for men? And, for those who agree with me, why doesn’t TRP admit this “hard truth” to its members and include this as an option? After all, most of them will not realistically be a part of the 1.26-19% of men who are single and have sex 2-3 times a week (presumably with different women).
