In my opinion, this seems to be mostly the case for Western women. When I lived in the Far East, it seemed like the women there were more concerned about a man's career than anything else, which is probably why you see a lot of Beta Bux with hot babes in Eastern countries.

As a White American male working in STEM, I tend to get more attention from foreign women than my own kind. It's insane. I feel you, OP.

And honestly, if you're a PhD or software developer, you are doing yourself a huge favour by developing another interest, and your job should be a minimum of your identity, and separate from your personality. There are tonnes of 40 year old burnt out losers who are expert technicians of various professions who made their job into their identity and have been turned into sanctimonious retards. stop framing yourself as a nerd/geek. frame yourself as someone with power. you don't "build websites." you "educate and entertain millions of people with your internet empire." you don't "stare into microscopes." you "save millions of lives with your research in <x>." it's even better if you can say "i'm an exec at this company" or "i run an internet/biotech company." all of these demonstrate power, and attract HBs.

if you can't say any of this sort of stuff, or frame what you do in a manner that demonstrates power, you're probably a beta in your office who takes orders all day, and she has every right to shrug you off.

Social value within culture. Within American culture, a PhD is seen as nerdy, extremely beta and just plain repulsive. Shows like Big Bang theory perpetuate the stereotype. I'm a med student, shit is meaningless unless you're an attending. I worked in a lab as an undergrad student and found a lot of the Phds and post docs were super fit or jacked dudes. It still was meaningless for their game to have that PhD.

Unless you're Walter White, some pharma executive or a Prof/Principal investigator pulling in 300k, a PhD is a negative for pussy.

They care more about the money and lifestyle they could achieve by getting you on board. The only exception really is if the career has some kind of social proof. Successful DJ > successful entrepreneur etc.

The reason you're not getting 9's and 10's isn't because of your career, it's because you think your career matters, and that thought belief and where it stems from is holding you back. You probably have other areas that are doing the same thing, and they can tell, so they dont fuck you.

How many business owners don't have a very exciting job title, but still pull hot women all the time. Sure, musicians and whatever else creative do as well, but that's because they have status, something you can achieve without it.

Your confusing being pre selected as an "alpha/fuckboy" vs a "beta/provider", to what you are telling women you are doing for a living.

First off, stop lying to women about what you do, as stated in this thread fuck even telling them what you do.

What is happening here is your triggering a response in them, and based on your location and their feelz it's triggering an unwanted result.

If you walk up to a girl in a hot new york nightclub and start spouting off how your a doctor, your gonna get beta shamed and never get a chance to engage them on a sexual level. On a closing point, One of the HOTTEST women I know, both physically and mentally would most likely LOVE talking with you about your crazy functional group protein thingy. She is a biochemist that specializes in protein structures last time I checked. That type of conversation would have you both talking for hours and it would form an amazing bond between you to. But, it would not make her wet and sexually attracted to you. That type of conversation is only going to put you in a place where women start thinking how to get resources out of you. In the case of my friend, she would probably want to work on your project with you. That will be true with a 5 or a 10. 9's and 10's already have everything they want at their fingertips especially in a nightclub/nightlife type atmosphere, walk up trying to provide more of that is like offering ice to an eskimo. Offer fun and excitement on the other hand, and the fact that you spend 50 hours in a lab a week come up with proteins isn't going to matter.

I don't really get what you're getting at. There are dozens of bands in any suburban town with adequate to very good musicians that play the local scene.

Past their 20s they start to look like losers to women mid 20s or later and everyone else. The reason is, the appeal of a musician is the belief that he's going to be famous someday. Past the 20s everyone knows that they're not.

Now, I'm not saying that it's not going to be a great supplemental skill, but musician with no level of fame is going to get you nothing that you, apparently, aren't already getting.

At best it's going to help you with the 16-22 year old crowd, and with older women who are desperate for a guy that has anything going on, but you already do, so....

And with the 16-22 year olds it's only going to help so much, as dependent on your looks mostly, and your position in the band, but if you think you're going to get 9s and 10s playing for 40 people at a bar on main street....where are you getting this idea?

Top tier intelligent women absolutely get wet for STEM professionals if he's got looks and style to go with it.
