Someday I have to do a post on this.

When I started dating, it was "men are all jerks and assholes". Today, the language is "All my relationships were abusive." I'm convinced that "abusive" really just means

I didn't get what I wanted from my relationships

and

there was conflict in my prior relationships because the men I was in those relationships with wanted things from me and I didn't want to/couldn't give them those things.

What does "abusive" mean?

He had boundaries and insisted that I respect them

He had standards and expectations and demanded that I meet them

He imposed consequences on me for not respecting his boundaries

He imposed consequences on me for not meeting his standards

He did things his way without regard for what I wanted, needed, or expected

He did not take my wants, needs, desires, feelings or emotions into account

He just didn't care about my feelings

He didn't let me do whatever I wanted

He wouldn't pay for everything

He stood up for himself and wouldn't let me get away with things

He called me out on my bullshit

He wanted to have sex with me and withdrew affection and attention when I shit tested him and refused him

He broke up with me when I got to be too much hassle

"I've never been pampered or shown respect"

This means women want their wants/needs/expectations/desires acknowledged and provided for; and their boundaries respected (ESPECIALLY their sexual boundaries). But "respect" comes into play only with beta men. Women will put up with "disrespect" from alpha men. Women demand "respect" only from betas.

This can be confusing to men, because to men, "respect" means "admiration and deference". Respect is earned. But to women, respect has an entirely different meaning - it essentially means "common courtesy, politeness, and kindness", and it should be freely given.

In my opinion, the juxtaposition of "pampering" with "shown respect" isn't accidental. She is not asking for admiration or deference. She is not showing a willingness to earn anything - she views herself as entitled to these things. When women plead for/demand "respect" from men, they're saying "be nice to be and give me what I want, and if you're a beta, don't try to fuck me like an alpha does."

Women speak to men using the male terminology for admiration and deference. This causes many men to think that admiring to women, deferring to them, and giving them what other men must earn will cause women to love them. "If I give her what she wants, she'll give me what I want." But this isn't how it works at all.

Yet another reason why men should stop listening to women talk and listening to what women say.

This is a plea to alpha men to like and care for them; and a demand/declaration of war on beta men to watch their step and tread carefully. It is stated in general to alphas (never to their faces), but women say this to beta men's faces. Women get right in a beta's face and demand "respect" (translation: Pay for all my shit and don't try to fuck me. We'll have sex on my terms or not at all, bitchboi!).

If a woman is constantly telling you she wants "respect" from you, she has you pegged as a beta. It's a shit test - it's "I want to see if I can control and manipulate you by speaking to you like a man does in male language. I want to see if I can get what I want from you without giving you anything in return."
