It took me HUNDREDS of partners before herpes caught up to me. For my very good friend, it was her FIRST.

About 12% of the US population has HSV-2.

I’ve had it since I was a kid, used to get outbreaks every couple months, now it’s once every year or once every couple years

I just made it a requirement that my dates need to have STI test results. I have my results on my phone to show. I'm completely clean.

Herpes though is probably the most minor STI there is. It's literally just little red bumps. Exactly identical to all the other little red bumps you get on all the other parts of your body for one reason or another. I'm much more concerned about stuff like syphilis and HIV.

Personally I prefer to stick to one partner at a time over longer periods. Less hassle and way better sex that way anyway.

Listen, I have had it since being a kid, my brother also, my mom has it, maybe she infected us while kissing, or some other people. It is quite common to get it, and nothing to worry about. The only irritating thing about it is that sometimes you get blisters on the lip, and that's it. But strangely, I've been with a lot of chicks, and they do not have blisters. I mean, ok, sometimes you can have them once per year, sometimes once in seven years, but my friends also that drank sometimes from the same bottle as me, after so many years, never showed any symptoms.

1 in 4? About 2/3 of the world has oral herpes and 1/6 has genital herpes. Herpes is one of those viruses where most people will catch it before they die so i just don't care about it tbh.

I believe it is difficult to tell. I have it on good authority that a person can be a carrier and not suffer symptoms. Some may also have an outbreak every two years or so.

It's way more common than 1/4. About 1/2 adults have it. A lot of people are just asymptomatic and STD tests don't check for herpes since it's so common.

Do you guys not know their is like 30 strands of HPV and the vaccine only protects you from a few of those? You're not even close to being immune from it because you got the vaccine.

Herpes is probably the most minor std you’ve chosen to worry about, and you probably have it and don’t know it. Nearly everyone does, it’s far more common than 1 in 4. It goes dormant and stays asymptomatic. You should worry more about pregnancy, the risk and consequences are far higher than pretty much any std.

Statistically 67% of people are infected with herpes virus. Most catch it from kissing their parents as kids.

It's just some unlucky people show symptoms while most do not.

Well 1 in 4 women have herpes and 1 in 5 men have herpes. That's the genital kind. For oral herpes 60% of the population has that. So you do the math OP

I have herpes simplex 1 which is cold sores! I've had it for my whole life basically and it only flares up, well the last time was in 2019, however it's basically impossible to catch herpes if you wear a condom, never sleep with strangers without a condom

Herpes isn't a joke.

I've had people pick me off, swing through my life and advance on me like "This way you got herpes." Even though I don't have it.

Then it pidgen holds me for being what has the herpes. It's a huge block on anything going forward with me.

It's a lesson on meeting strangers but also how to better meet people on the web.
