Honestly, in my experience, unless you are talking about players, most men only want stability and are perfectly fine with spending their life with the same girl.
Thing is, women are usually a lot more emotional than men, and they crave strong emotions, so when love loses it's strong emotions (because it eventually does) women are more likely to go look elsewhere whereas men are content with accepting that the feelings are not as strong as before.

I believe there have been studies that suggest that while men are more likely to end up in a physical affair, women are more likely to leave the relationship emotionally or psychologically first (but separately from them engaging emotionally or physically outside of the partnership with someone else). It’s possible that the statistics of men’s infidelity being higher are also partly due to the fact that the sexual revolution post birth control is still evolving and so that could change over time. I’ve heard Esther Perel speak on this subject, and she does a wonderful job of explaining the delicate balance and polarity of desire/the unknown/separateness and comfort/security/closeness, as well as the ways this impacts us sexually.
There’s also a big difference between spontaneous desire, which is driven by testosterone, and allows men to be more likely to be turned on by something as simple as an attractive visual, and responsive desire, which is far more common in women and requires certain efforts to help them connect and build that desire. It’s the reason why women are more likely to read erotica - bc they are engaged in the romance, the storyline, the anticipation, the ways the nonsexual evolves into the sexual, the dance of intimacy. If women are checked out in an otherwise healthy relationship, it’s often partly bc their life doesn’t contain enough separateness from their family/partner, so there is nothing to stimulate them, nothing for their partner to still pursue (and learn that separateness, to help them both desire closeness again), nothing for them to feel those efforts of being valued and romanced and pursued that drove her desire in the beginning of the connection. That cliche saying of “treat a girl the way you did when you were still trying to win her, and you’ll never lose her” has some merit.

Honestly ? I'm sure most studies will tell you men are more promiscuous, but that's always surprised me, unless you're "a player" like I said, most men get very few partners and tend to hold on to what they have, women have a lot of options thanks to today's dating apps, men don't.
I believe studies are skewed though, because men will usually lie about having more sexual partners and women will lie about having less, so it's hard to have a really good idea about the real number of sexual partners of both genders.
I'm just speaking from my experience and those of my friends (women and men) which doesn't mean much on a global scale but hey, it's convincing enough to me.

Totally agree on this. If an entire college campus was polled randomly by someone walking around asking, I'd be wiling to bet the number of partners women have had versus men would be drastically lopsided. Nothing wrong with that, it is what it is, and how it is.
Literally any girl can be a "player," but the average joe can't just decide to be a "slut" and bag 100 women, like an average woman can. It's usually only the well above average looking guys who have the luxury of playing the field and being a "player." Or of course, the guys who have zero standards and would fk a tire swing if it looked in their direction.. Which in all reality, that is the minority of men.

Yeah, when I was in college I was always surprised by the body count of women, which would sometimes surpass 20, but I'd say most averaged around 6, and men usually had like 2 including their current partner. I also found out most men don't do one night stands compared to most women, and those who did were usually men with a higher body count in general.

Almost got it, but just a little bit inaccurate. You did hit the nail on the head here, though:
there is not like an optimization formula you can use.
Look at women this way: you can do everything perfect and they'll leave, conversely you can do everything wrong and they'll stay.
The only thing you have "control" over in relationships is yourself. A woman's desire for you typically runs 18-36 months. Men fall out of love on a gradual decline (about -45°) whereas a woman's decline is drastic (asymptotically).
Be kind and respectful, but have personal authority so that you never let yourself be walked over or mistreated. Punish bad behavior and reward good behavior.
Whether a woman stays or goes depends on her looks/psychology (Love Avoidant vs. Love Addicted). Only 2 reasons women stay: she thinks he can do better than her. She thinks she can't do better than him.
Lastly, go read Esther Perel's, Mating in Captivity to understand the dynamics and differences between love and desire. When you're done reading that watch Esther's Ted Talk on cheating (for anyone who's ever loved) to get a better idea of the full picture of love/relationships.

If you are qualified, as in checking all of the boxes then respectable women would want to settle with you. You need to check all of the boxes, practically. There are plenty of women who just want a man that ticks the marks, and be DONE with searching, because sifting through a hoard of shit is not fun and it takes A LOT of time. It is funny.

Oh also, living a fast life may be very attractive to many. Not a flashy life, but a fast, steamy and sexy life. You need some money for this, or you can mimick surfers, boaters or drug life, to induce the same level of thrill with little ongoing costs. I have not tried those styles however, I know a guy who owns a big boat (not a yatch, just a big boat), and is doing well with that. I also know nomads who are doing fine, they work remotely so have time to explore. I just earn enough in financial industries to afford various experiences.
You need to be attractive, but anyone can buy medical interventions to become attractive, and maintain attractiveness into your mid 50s as a man. I know a VC that is 55 yo. He looks like 40 and pulls 10/10 25s. He is also very attractive (he looks like a real man, a boss type, not like a model man). That is a look MOST men can achieve.

No, I in early-mid 20s myself, working in quant finance, I am not an old bloke. I am not some 30+ dude or some 40+ dude. However, I don’t think this matters. I could just go for any girl (given my age), however, the comment asked for how to find a stable, great woman with a head, and not some fuckbuddy, so here it is.
I don’t use tinder, I figure out whom is pretty and invite them on to an experience through casually asking guys at that at uni, whom they think are hot. I don’t go around blindly on the site, that can be a waste, because people have immediate plans etc. I pay for dinners to have a friendly chat with a guy to get information. This is faster, and it could be almost any guy in the program.
Of course, you need to he very socially adept for all of this to go smoothly. I have no trouble finding friends anywhere whatsoever, no matter the level of sophistication of the person. In fact, if you have your shit together, then guys will take interest and tell you who is the hot women in their program, or an adjacent program.
That is a tactic. Pay for dinners with guys that are in the program to figure out who is hot, and go from there. If you do that with woman, the then they may for may not spread rumors you don’t want. They might be jealous because you use them to find someone else, so guys are the safer bet.

I applied negation proportionality. Yes, most of the time they know what they want, and a few times they don’t.
Yeah not really very convinced because my observation along with other men's experience shows that there's too many women experiencing those "few times that they don't" at the same time.

i never understand why men like to treat dating as like war strategy . im a lesbian and this is just such a different perspective than what im used to, i feel like being hyper conscious of whether youre being “goofy” or “serious” or “firm” is kind of an unnatural way of communicating with a significant other, i think it boils down to person-to-person, case-by-case empathy and understanding

Eh yeah, you aren't wrong but any reasonably stable women who has their emotions in check, isn't really like this. Maybe the younger 20 yr old women are like that but, I've yet to meet a woman in her 30s like what you describe. At least not to that degree.
