I'm 5'6/5'7(not 100% sure). I consider myself short even though i'm close to my country's average. Not comically short, but i'm certainly far from tall.

Now, the reason i'm making this post is because this is a subject that i find very interesting. Very often i see discussions online about the disadvantages of being short and how women don't like short guys, yada, yada, yada. In fact, there seems to be an obsession with the subject, both from tall and short guys. For some reason, it is a big deal for them.

Now, what's funny about this whole thing is that i never really knew height could be a problem until the internet told me. Yes, the internet told me that. Not girls, not the people around me. The internet. I don't think i ever even thought about height before reading discussions online about how bad it is to be short.

Why do i say this? Well, because never in my life i had much of a problem getting girls. Sure, not every girl wants to fuck me, but that's the reality of 99% of the male community. That being said, i've always had girlfriends and fuck buddies. And also, at least around me, i've never seen any evidence of taller guys getting laid more often than i do. Better looking guys do get laid more often. But simply being taller than me doesn't seem to give them that big of an advantage. In fact, no friend of mine, who is taller than me, has fucked as many girls as i did.

Am i saying that it is a myth that girls prefer taller guys? Not at all. Ideally, almost every woman wants a tall guy, as long as his height is complemented by other qualities. The thing is: life has thought me that there is a huge difference between what girls think they want and what girls end up getting.

More often than not girls end up dating, fucking and marrying guys that don't represent what they would call their type. I've been in situations where a girl told me i wasn't her type at all and showed little interest in me and then a few months after ended up falling for me.

Attraction can be a lot more complex than people think. The reason why certain people get together may often seem a mystery, because it's a product of so many factors that no one can realistically assess them. All people know is what caughts their eye at first, that's why when they describe what they want in a guy they might seem extremely shallow. They can only describe attraction on a very simple and basic level. Whatever they say they want really means very little. I can think of dozens and dozens and dozens of cases that i personally know where the girl is a lot hotter than the guy and vice versa. They're not each others dream at all.

Most girls that i've met had no problem with height. I do think that for a lot of them it can be uncomfortable to date a much shorter guy, but as long as you are their size or taller you should be good, unless you live in an extremely shallow place. But then again, if you wanna know what the real world is all about, just look around you. I can tell you that most short guys i know have or have had girlfriends. So, if you're short, you shouldn't feel discouraged. The internet might tell you have no chance, but if you look around, you'll see a different reality.

My best advice would be to not to waste time, money and efforts with people and situations that aren't worth it. Most of us have limitations. Most of us also want what we perceive as being the best of the best. But at the end of the day, you can benefit a lot from accepting that you can't have everything. Sure, a lot of girls wouldn't want a short guy. But why focus on them? Why bother with them?

The people you surround yourself with can have a deep impact in your life, and that includes girls. You're not everyone's cup of tea. Almost no one is. Put your efforts into girls that have some substance and can see past how tall you are. If you're putting your efforts into a girl who can't see value in a man unless he is X tall, you deserve to be rejected. Stop chasing what's not even worth having.

Only around 1% or less of the population often voices their opinions online. What you read online isn't a representation of the real world. The internet is a cesspool of insecurities, frustrations and ignorance. So you should really quit feeling bad for yourself because the internet tells you have a reason to be. In fact, your lack of success with women might not even have much to do with height. There are many other factors that can have an impact on how girls perceive you.
