Note: what I'm saying here is culturally specific to Western or Latin culture. I don't know about other parts of the world. I always go in for the hug. If they're not even comfortable with that then why would they show up to a date where body touching is likely to happen or at least be attempted. Hand shakes give off a cold, professional vibe.
