You skipped over the hardest part: Getting matches
[–]reomix 240 points241 points242 points 6 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Getting matches is diffcult yes. Getting replies. Impossible
[–]jefflongdong 25 points26 points27 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
sometimes it can be impossible how are today

It's a numbers game, for example:
Match with 25 women and make the first move, unless it's bumble.
Half or less than half respond.
Half or less than half that respond will continue talking with you.
Half or less than half that continue talking with you will be down to exchange numbers and meet up.
Half or less than half who are down to exchange numbers and meet up, you'll actually lay.
Good Luck.

I agree entirely. I’ve been on tinder for about 2 years and I don’t think I’ve even gotten 50 matches out of it. Out of all my matches, I’ve only been on 1 date and we decided to stay friends after that date. Online dating sucks.

[–]reomix 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]NotMyBestEffort 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I ain't complaining. I get matches, conversations, numbers and subsequently dates from Tinder.
I think I can get a lot better at it still...
[–]reomix 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The exact reason why I decided to take a break from online dating. Can’t get a response to save my life.
[–]noprideinsomniac95 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Its variable for me. I'll go for like a month without any responses or even matches, other times I'll be like juggling 5 at once. Just keep at it and dont get discouraged.
[–]KaktusJackson 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It is so weird right now, I feel like the algirithm has changed. I get like 2 matches a week when it was several a day. Pretty much every girl responds to my texts and we get a nice conversation going. The number of matches and reply ratio just doesn‘t seem to align anymore, no clue. As if I was like totally niche-attractive lol
[–]Flames57 44 points45 points46 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]Hbfieldii01 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]noprideinsomniac95 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ask her out after a minimal amount of talking. I normally shoot my shot after 10-20 messages back and forth, when it feels like a good spot in the conversation. Some girls want to chat with you for a while but fuck that shit I'm not looking for a virtual gf.
[–]BitsAndBobs304 31 points32 points33 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's easy, the only problem is that hotels hand out crappy ones when for emergencies you really want the waterproof ones
[–]TerminatorReborn 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Improve your photos and description. You need to have good photos to get matches. If you don't, delete Tinder and focus on having fun and recording the moments with your phone, then you will have more insteresting pictures.

Step 1: Be attractive
Step 2: Don't be unattractive
I'm physically attractive but lack other things that form the full picture. My wardrobe is not fashonable or expensive. I have yet to get a good cologne. My personal interests don't align with most girls (this can both make you interesting and uninteresting to girls).
[–]khante 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Can help you with wardrobe part. I go to macys 90 percent or whatever section. (Yes. I know 90 percent discount is a scam). I get shirt for like 8$ or something which I can wear to bars and get compliments on then all the time. I usually buy like 2 shirts every month. It's cheap and you dont even have to worry about then going bad or something since they are extremely replaceable.
[–]gingerfreddy 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]ChelseaDagger14 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The guys obsessed with rating girls are usually the biggest chodes from what I’ve noticed.
They usually use “high standards” to excuse lack of results. It’s not a trade off where you can fuck a 10 a month or a six every week, usually the guys who go for quantity also get quality.
[–]TheGreatConst 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Most guys would rather fap on 8/10+ girls than actually fuck the overweight 5/10 one, let alone girls below.

Work on your profile. Find a look that works for you. I feel like a lot of guys try to force a look that doesn't work with their natural features and ignore a look that works better for them. Have good quality pics and make sure the pics and bio are interesting in that they make the person want to ask you about them. I'm sure a million guys have beach selfies, but try something they havent seen before and they'll ask you about it
[–]gtrman571 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I have a great profile - That doesn’t change the fact that like 95% are on there solely for validation/attention and have no intention of meeting you

[–]argus4ever 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Unfortunately, women tend to get in their own way when it comes to meeting good dudes online cause if they see one bad photo of you and or don't like what you say in your bio, they swipe left. Why? Cause there's an ENDLESS supply of guys to choose from.
I'm overweight and not that photogenic, but I've had massive success matching with quality women by only uploading the 1 VERY GOOD photo of my face, looking handsome as fuck. And having a maxed out bio that shows I'm direct, honest, know what I want, and have a busy lifestyle.
It also doesn't hurt to pay for Tinder Gold once in a while. I paid for 1 mo and used the hell out of it and got tons of matches with great women.
I hope this helps, like I said, sometimes women need to get out of their own way to match with a good guy, after that it's all up to you to make something happen.
[–]DARTH_GALL 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I never know what to put in a bio. Brief so as to not give any disqualifiers. Any tips?
[–]argus4ever 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
To be honest, in this case I don't think less is more. I don't know about you, but I don't want to waste my time with women who are super religious or aren't what I'm looking for. And you don't want to waste their time either.
I try to describe myself without sounding boring, because I don't want to match with a girl who doesn't know what I'm looking for. Paraphrasing: I'll say something like, "my religion is positive vibes; looking for a woman that's smart, sexy and sweet--if that's you, lets talk; I'm purpose-driven and that's priority #1, but when we're together you'll have my full attention; etc."
Hope this helps. There's already a lot of info in this subreddit for learning what women want, so you can make your bio geared towards that while also letting the females know who you are so no one's wasting time
[–]Duck_Specialist 74 points75 points76 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]Xazax310 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's a key too although not directly stated in this, the more VALUE you place on the first few dates(fancy restaurant, drinks, etc) the more you expect to a get a return from the girl. It usually back fires as girl gets to enjoy all those things without having to engage physically or emotionally into you.
So Coffee shops, parks, walks, bars with good venues, Hikes etc are great "free" actives to take dates.

[–]Tokemoke 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
They don’t have puppies at pet smart. Only cats and rodent like creatures. Who honestly takes a date to SPCA though. Not knocking your strategy but really?
[–]ImJustSo 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The humane society here is very nice, it actually made me consider this in the future for a date option. There's a couple sculptures, lots of wide open glass rooms where the cats are as soon as you walk in. Comfortable homes, play area, cat friends to play with each other. The puppies are all in the back, because they're barky but after checking in they let you back there to meet dogs you want. During check in, you sit on comfy benches in the lobby, which is a warm area, perfect for sitting close with a date and talking. The whole experience would lead perfectly into an intimate feeling, which would make any next date location feel natural.
This may not be relevant, but it sounds even more perfect, because I'd be with two women on a date. This is a perfect three-way date starter, girls together will egg each other's ovaries on around cute things. I can't believe I haven't thought of this myself.
[–]Tokemoke 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I actually haven’t been to the humane society in ages. Will have to check it out.
[–]TARPSHT 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I’ve actually only gone there when it’s the girls idea. I don’t see what’s wrong with it though, they have a room where you can play with all the cute cats, and sometimes the puppies too. All the fucked creatures are locked in cages in the back lol. You can also take dogs for walks if you want but I’ve never done that.
I’d rather go there than the big box pet stores/

[–]Xazax310 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
IF you've been talking to a girl and they flake... its literally a game of chance with most women. Some do have legit excuses others will lie because emotionally not feeling into you. A Suggestion I heard was to playfully tease them on their flakiness.

Be interesting and desirable
[–]MentalRoutine 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
examples?
[–]gingerfreddy 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Do sports, but hopefully something besides just "I lift". Have hobbies. Have opinions. Be kind. Have a dog. Wear fancy clothes. Smile a lot, be confident.
Now, being confident is hard. You need to eliminate things about yourself you dislike and do things you like. At 14 I was mildly overweight and socially inept. Doing sports through HS and gaining a good physique is immense for my self-esteem. The key to confidence is being happy with yourself, being happy with yourself means always striving to be a better version of yourself every day. Make self-improvement a lifestyle, not a goal in itself. It's a never-ending road to be the best version of yourself, so it's all about enjoying the journey in itself and appreciate the friends, girls and experiences you got along the way.
[–]positron360 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Speaking as a girl, sports doesn't make men interesting or desirable. Sometimes quite the opposite. A lot of women don't want to date Chads. A guy too much into sports is often looked at as more self-obsessed and less concerned about the girl.
[–]gingerfreddy 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I mean, all of this advice is just general. It won't apply to everyone for sure.
[–]noprideinsomniac95 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Haven't found a way to get past that. Some girls take it more seriously than others. Best thing to do is to have a lot of volume so one cancellation doesn't hurt as bad. Date on friday cancelled? Who cares when you got one on saturday.

[–]thedutchqueen 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
that part is fine, but as a woman, i’d find it really off-putting with that “kissing is 80% the guy 20% girl” comment.

[–]FlakeyGhost 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Guys need to initiate kissing unfortunately.
Now that I said that a bunch of y’all will think I mean forcing yourself on her or misreading queues.
[–]positron360 -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
See, we get that guys quite often end up being the ones initiating kissing, but saying that out loud is just obnoxious. Just read the cues and lean in when you see her clearly interested. No need to be didactic about it.
Bonus tip: if it's your first time kissing her, softly ask her if you can kiss her. She won't say no!

[–]positron360 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]u5c4q7fv 6 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link
I don’t think you guys are understanding what I’m getting at OF COURSE ITS CREEPY without proper context, to be able to talk like that to a girl you need to build a comfortable foundation with her, which is why you do de puppies and the coffee shop, how else can you expect a guy to sexual escalate
[–]positron360 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well, I don't know the girls who have been okay with you doing this, but girls can be different from one another. There really isn't a general formula for this. While this may be fine for you and your date based on both of your goals, it may be different for another couple.
[–]u5c4q7fv1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
While I don’t disagree with you, not one size fits all that’s a given, but I think this is a good guideline to follow if your not sure how to go about dating. Yes all girls are different and sure I’ve had a couple strike outs but from my experience the more I did it the better I got and the Results just got better and better.
[–]DoenerLieber1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I'm not a girl so the roles are more reversed. As a guy I still think its kind of weird and ruins some of the excitement and tension. Its like playing a game with cheat codes. Part of the fun is figuring things out as you go. Theres plenty of time to talk about wants/need later.
[–]aycarumbakid -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
it would immediately make me not interested in him. cringey, sorry.
Well, your entitled to your opinion but for me it has worked just fine, there’s a way to say it where it works just fine in the context of the situation
Em, maybe you missed it, but the whole point of the first date is to have sex on it if possible, let alone talking about sexual things. In 100% cases if a guy on a date with you he already knows that he wants to have sex with you (preferably as fast as possible) unless you catfished him. Moreover, this post about fucking Tinder which is a hookup app. If you was able to meet the girl from Tinder on a date then it is because she choose you as the best choice to potentially hook up with you. Girls who need multiple dates and pursue long term relationships usually aren't the ones who choose their mates from Tinder.
[–]inthelapofthegods_ 28 points29 points30 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
100% nope on the puppy store. I guess this depends on the girl and if they’re informed. If a guy brought me to one of those puppy stores I would get stabby (at the store not at my date). They get those puppies from puppy mills where they force breed dogs and then sell their sick offspring with no regard for their well being.

Very good and true guide. That’s how you seal the deal. Indeed the physical contact which allows for breaking the touch barrier is an absolute necessity. I always imagine I have 3 bars to fill up in order to get the chick. Comfort, physical escalation and attractiveness. You need all 3 of them to be successful on a date. Comfort is the easiest one. It’s talking, joking, interacting with your date (most guys do this okay). Then there is the physical escalation. “Accidental” touch of a hand or a shoulder, gentle grab around the waist when walking through the door, etc. Then more intimate contact. Last but definitely not least is the attractiveness. Bad news - you can’t do much about it. Every girl is different and looks for different things in a guy. Good news - you can sort of fill this bar up by dressing nicely, wearing a good fragrance, having a nice haircut, etc. Also - by maxing out the first two bars, this one will go up by itself. Get 3 of them and you’re good.
This man gets it

If you have already kissed your date and everything went smoothly enjoy the moment man, make sure you have a time frame during your date, YOU ALWAYS want to be leaving your date wanting more. Play it by ear honestly if things are private enough you can certainly escalate things sexually IF and only if she’s into it, she will give you physical signals on weather she wants to escalate or not. If she doesn’t simply chill with her a little longer makeout a little more then take her back to her place, make sure to set up a time for another date.

Question: theoretically, are horror movies good for dates? I mean, when it's scary they could hold onto you for dear life lol
I personally think movies in general are a bad idea for a FIRST DATE, your sitting there watching something not focused on each other the whole point of the coffee shop step is build a foundation with her and you can’t really do that at the movies. I’d save the movie idea for like 2nd even 3rd date
[–]autisticspymaster1 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]positron360 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Depends on the girl. Everyone has varying tastes and preferences so while the same movie can be exciting for one girl, it could be torture for another. Just ask her if she would be interested in that genre, especially as Halloween is round the corner.

Literally my step-by-step gameplan too
[–]MidwestDaygame 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The problem with Tinder and other online dating apps is that you need to wait for the girl to match with you based on your pictures, and there is a ton of guys online, so Tinder is getting worse every year. Compare that to daygame, where you can approach anyone you want. I've gotten numbers from girls during the day who would have never swiped right on me. Yes, the barrier to entry for daygame can be high as you need to approach a lot to get better at it, but once you are good you can meet women anywhere, anytime. That's pretty powerful!
[–]bileine 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The thing is... I get a few likes, I just can't get a good match that will keep talking or even answer the first message. Girls seem they only want to receive a new like and feel a little better about themselves

Really good post. Just missed a point or to about having also a plan to follow after the kiss. Maybe it's not a content intended for this post, but I just recently had this experience where I made out with a girl (not a tinder date, but it also applies to that) having everything planned and under control until that moment, and then went completely blank and did some incoherent moves after that. Just a reminder that kissing doesn't mean it's over
[–]peeaches 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Interesting. The best first date I've ever had, I took the girl to go play with puppies. I think it just happened to be what I wanted to do and she was down for it and we ended up being together all night and had sex at the end of it. Think I peaked in my dating career early, 'cause that was like 9 years ago lmao.

I usually take them on helicopter rides and on yacht parties. Seems to work. Lol

Interesting read, I'd say skip the Tinder part get the girl number or social media IRL. Tinder is really terrible...
Don't know what r/FemaleDatingStrategy would think about this !

What about a date on a boat. Because of the implication...

Guys- if someone took me on this date and followed these steps... yeah I’d probably end up kissing. This man has created a gold mine. I love it.
Best part- be yourself but clean and prepared.
For those of you stressing about not getting a match, let me give you some advice from a girl on Tinder. Take more than one photo, and make sure your whole face is in it. Smile in either all of them, or at least one. Be clean in it. Maybe throw in a photo or you and your friends, something silly. AND HAVE A BIO. The number one reason I don’t swipe on someone is due to a lack of bio, or bios that are like a back hand. You know, the, I’m a good guy trying to find a girl who will give me a chance. Just tell us what you like doing (even if it’s just a favorite tv show) tell us what makes you smile. Throw in some of your personality- like a stupid joke.
If you still aren’t getting swiped- I’m sorry. You’ll find her, you’ll find love. I believe in you!
[–]reidy644 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
As a girl I can confidently say this all makes me want to puke lol. I’m sure you’re a great guy but just from this, you remind me of a guy I actually did date from tinder that now thinking back on makes me cringe. I hate when guys try to do the casual touch thing, he did that all the time. Like pat your knee or something dumb like that, just trying to get a chance to touch you. And taking me to a “puppy shop” would be the best way to get me to nope outta there.
All I’m sayin is don’t assume if you do these things it should work. All girls are individuals damnit.
the key is to not do it all the time, everything in moderation, the guy simply needs to establish physical contact. I’m willing to BET if a guy did these things in a smooth and casual fashion and you were interested in him even on a physical level you would go along with it. This approach works much better in practice than just reading it on reddit.
[–]reidy644 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thank you for understanding me better than I understand myself! I really just needed a guy like you to explain it to me in a smooth and casual fashion.
My sarcasm radar is going off the charts
[–]positron360 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This. Any self-respecting girl would feel this way.
[–]HumbleTrees 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is some autistic level shit.
[–]Missingplanes -5 points-4 points-3 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
All of this is faking who are you are in order to make something happen that would not otherwise happen. I agree with being your best self. But on a permanent basis, with ups and downs. Everything else here is horse shit. When you are your most authentic self, you will be attractive to the people who fit you. Everything is an exercise in pain.
[–]u5c4q7fv6 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
This is simply a guideline for guys who don’t know how to go about a date, if it was horseshit I wouldn’t be posting it. It has worked for me and I’m certain it will work for other people.
[–]Andar1st 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's possible to be authentic, while still taking advice and following suggestions. Fun chat in a coffee shop? Check. Park and romantic setting? Check. Kissing? Check. Escalating so easily? Sometimes it happens naturally. I would have to get out my comfort zone, but it sounds good to learn to do it consciously. CHECK.
[–]girthgains 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
He says to be your genuine self not saying anything about being fake, this is great advice for noobs, you should try to take it for yourself maybe getting laid would do you some good and relax you sound stressed and clinically depressed brotha.
[–]Missingplanes 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Everything else is an exercise in pain. Not depressed, have a great career and a great girlfriend. Found both by just deciding to be myself for better or worse many years ago. Thanks for your concern though.
[–]Suiteup -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Coffee shops are the lamest possible date idea.
If by lame you mean inexpensive and personal than sure pal :)
[–]Suiteup -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
By lame I mean ordinary, generic, and not in any way memorable.

Here is my list, try it!
You just have to prove you have money.
That's all.
How do you prove it? with your clothes, cologne, watch, phone, car, plan for the date.
that's it.
edit: if you also want to get married, you have to wear new shoes. (she will ask about your shoes, you have to answer "looking good is important")
I didn't invent this, this is just how life works. I'm just sharing the news.
[–]quienchingados -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
My comment is destined to get downvoted, but just give it ONE single try, it will work like charm. Why? IDK, just do it what can you lose?
[–]quienchingados -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
actually I really know why, because tv glorifies rich people, because tv glorifies shoes, and we have been watching this since birth. girls are NOT dumb superficial assholes, but they think they have to be that way because of boomer TV. girls are awesome, they are sweet, they are kind, they are smart... but tv brainwashed them to believe money is the most important thing in the world and they were trained to find money attractive subconsciously. boomer TV sucks!! I hope more women snap out of that brainwashing and become the life partners and friends we men want, we will treat them good and they will do the same, because we enjoy pampering each other, we love each other. (If you are a woman and you think shoes are really important, you are a victim of the brainwashing)
[–]illbefinehonest 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Show us where the shoe touched you
I'm just as confused by sneakerheads as the next guy but come on now, shoes? Most people do not give AF. Most people I know buy lots of cheap shoes, not flashy expensive ones. Cheap clothes because fast fashion. Don't believe malefashionadvice is what normal people do - they say it themselves, their hobby is fashion.
[–]quienchingados 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Ok don't try it if you don't want to.
and Fashion has nothing to do with it.
just buy a levi's shirt (one of the expensive ones), nice jeans (I mean the expensive ones) and a pair of new shoes or snickers or whatever. you are not a fashionista, you just have decent "expensive" clothes that maybe don't even match. but you have money. and go out to the street... and just walk. and girls will be turning to see you. just talk to any of them.
then repeat the experiment but with your worn off clothes... maybe some walmart clothes, and suddenly no one cares.
it's that simple. every girl that stares at you with your good clothes is "at your level" just say hi and that's it. it's that simple.
[–]illbefinehonest 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Nobody cares what you're wearing if it isn't full of holes and you smell nice. It is probably making you feel more confident which makes you more noticeable.
None of my clothes are expensive, honestly the newest thing I own is probably 2 years old. Fancy expensive clothes are a waste of money as anything other than a hobby for yourself, if you don't enjoy it, spend your money on shit you do enjoy.
[–]quienchingados 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
I'm poor as well
[–]illbefinehonest 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Sorry to hear that man, do you live in a country with a struggling economy or is it because you spent everything on Levi's?
Invest your money, spend it on hobbies (it's fine if one of those is clothes), live life. Do what makes you happy and people will come to you.

Hmm true except with the touching on a first date (high fives and other hand contact like that sure but nothing else)
[–]u5c4q7fv 6 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link
man if the chemistry is there you can literally get laid pretty easily on the first date, contact is essential especially when sexually escalating a lot of guys don’t understand when it’s ok to cross certain boundaries
[–]xxshidoshi 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah to each their own I guess, personally I have just started to feel uncomfortable and unsafe even when there was good chemistry. It’s kinda like a red flag for me
[–]zackamite 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Any guy that knows what he is doing will see that you're uncomfortable and stop themselves in their tracks, they are only doing it because physical escalation is needed in order for things to progress intimately
Lol, what? Do you understand what in the vast majority of cases if you weren't able to fuck a girl from Tinder on the first date then you would be ghosted? It is fucking hook up app, silly. Not only you should touch her, but you should invite her to your place and escalate as far as possible. Even if she wouldn't have sex with you - if you two french kissed and touched each other hard then it is much more likely that you will meet each other again. I assume you either never got laid from Tinder ever or a girl yourself.
