This is a topic that always gets me angry. Who do people think they are defining what a 'real man' is? As if there were any other type of man. All men are real, what they are trying to sell as 'real' is actually what they see as 'preferable'. And confusing reality with what you prefer is the definition of delusion.

I agree the language is stupid and sexist. But what she probably meant was that "these are the qualities of a man I find attractive".

Men do that all the time to women and other men because it is a straightforward description of personal opinion.

I make a point of explaining what "real women" are whenever it is suggested that a "real man" should display X or Y qualities, fortunately as I'm being a nasty troll at that point I just attack them viciously for every negative trait I've observed in them and I don't need to believe in any "real" anything.
