Honestly if I were 15 I'd totally want to hit it with the fist of an angry god. But since I'd be 15 and stupid I might do something get emotionally attached or otherwise confused. In reality, the normal fallout would have probably not been too much worse than any bad breakup.
However, turning it into assault and a court case would have just made everything worse for the victim.
If the genders were reversed, society would look at it differently, for sure, but to be 100% honest if I'm 15 and think "oh woe is me, no one likes me or understands me," I'd totally bone a nice-looking 29 year old who was hitting on me.

Those people are so idiotic. They don't actually think before they speak they just go "Duh, its a pretty lady". So what? What if the male victim is gay? What if the male victim does not actually find her personally attractive? He is still forced to have sex with her. This'll probably be buried, but if I remember correctly this kid wasn't "raped". I believe I read an article earlier, the two met on ps3 and the relationship built to phone calls, Facebook and finally they met up, that's when it became sexual. The boy wanted to have sex/a relationship with her, the parents pressed charges, the kid didn't want them to.

This comming from an 18 year old guy, i lost my "flower" when i was 14 to my then 16 year old girlfriend. I loved her ofcourse, but she was far more advanced in the field of sex and being a teenager, near adult, in general, i wasn't that into girls at that time. After we dated for about two weeks she started coming on to me, i totally flipped my shit " what is happening? What should i do?" after a month we had actual sex, i liked it, physically, orgasms are orgasms after all,but i wasn't ready,psycologically, for sex. the actual reason i did it was because i thought it was cool, after all, i was doing it with an older, sexy lady. After we broke up, she never spoke to me again. Turned out she was just looking for sex, just like more girls that age than you'd believe. Any idea how devastating it is for a teenager, to be ignored, like he doesn't exist, by a girl who took his virginity? Stuff like that messes with your brain. I know more guys my age who are coping with their sexuality, because when they started out, they did it for all the wrong reasons too.

The fact is, i've only just came to my senses recently about what "having intercourse" with someone actually means. Because i had "consentual" sex with an older girl, even if she was only 2 years older than i, and only 16 at the time, it screwed up my sexual morale for the next 4 years. At such young ages, you can't rightfully decide what's right or wrong for you, you're judging important matters as a child, who wants to be acknowledged as a cool, alphadude by his peers. I did too, now i regularly visit a shrink, mainly because i used to be (still kinda am) confused about my sexuality (i'm bisexual) and all the shit that comes with it. whenever i felt something romantic, or just plain sexual about a guy, i thought "i can't be gay, im a cool dude who fucked chicks in highschool, "Not saying teens shouldn't fool around, but they should do it with kids their age.

It blows my mind that some of you guys actually seem to endorse young boy/way older woman sex -stuff. If that's how you think about it, about it not being a serious matter because it is "cool", i hope you won't have kids till you've grown up. Although it may seem cool in hindsight as an adult, or as someone who has never had sex before, it really messes up guys more than most people, even themselves sometimes, realize. Whether they are straight, bi or gay males. Thanks for reading this.

This clearly wasn't a case of rape. It was obviously a case of statutory rape, and I think a lot of people today generally think this kind of charge is bullshit. As evidence of this, I offer the fact that this woman was charged with three counts of "sexual assault" (rape) which the article describes as misdemeanors. Where in the world is sexual assault a misdemeanor? Everywhere in the United States I believe that's a felony with serious jail time attached, and guaranteed lifetime sex offender registration.

I'm 15, and in 9 months I can have consensual sex with anyone, I'm pretty sure now you'd have to hope that I know what I'm doing, whether it be with another 15 year old or with someone twice that age.

It really depends on the situation, but from my perspective to this one, I think it's consensual, meaning, the whole assault thing is kind of oh, I don't know, blowing it a bit out of proportion.

Yes, there is an obvious double standard. I just can't bring myself to care. I just can't separate who I was at 15 and this situation. The only reason this was sexual assault is because the parents saw. It's most likely a case of statutory rape/assault where the 15 year old consented, but he is not at a legal age at which the government has said he can make this decision.

I actually feel bad for this woman. Because she's going to get charged with a crime equivalent to actual, serious assault. What she needs is a slap upside the head and rehabilitative education, just like every guy who gets consensually involved with someone too young.

What she did was wrong, but it highlights how ridiculous the assault laws are. Too bad it has to be fairly applied to both genders before it becomes apparent to many people.

When an older woman seeks a younger boy it seems to always just be sexual. (generalising)

A 15 year old is more likely going to say Doesn't Matter had sex later in life, whilst the girl is going to feel manipulated and used.. Which do you think is more harmful to the individual?
