If we're going to take Darwin's principles of sexual selection into consideration, who does actually benefit more from freedom of choice when it comes to dating?

First of all, a woman has more choices (depending on her looks, of course) so some people argue that freedom of choice benefits women the most because it allows them a wider range of men to choose from.

However, it has been pointed out that this freedom also can be handled irresponsibly. For example, in the case that a woman may enter into a relationship with a disreputable man.

Yet when it comes to freedom of choice for men, this is likewise the case and men have been known to choose some ridiculous women due to their inability to decipher a good one.

It's a very philosophical question and I don't mean to get stumped on it but I was wondering if perhaps Im not overthinking.
