Yes, sex feels good. In and of itself, that's just a basic reality.

Everything else around that is where things get tricky. It's possible to enjoy sex without hurting anyone... but it's harder, requires making good decisions, it requires acceptance that you might not be approved of by everyone, so you have to be confident that it's both worth it.

Many people don't put in the effort needed to have responsible sex. So they don't. Men and women equally. That's not about sex, though, that's about human's having flaws. People also often don't think enough about the cars they drive, the food they eat, the houses they live in, the pets they adopt, the children the have or the media they consume.

But it's not the sex that is harmful, it's the bad decisions around sex. Like driving a car or owning a gun.

Some people extract pleasure from working, some others don't. And the former will irremediably lecture the later because they think their way of enjoying themselves is the only right way and that it is more meaningful. But nothing has meaning and they're just pretentious apes.

I really wish they’d do a study on declining libido in heterosexual couples that have had kids. It’s been my anecdotal experience that mens libido seems to be a constant but women tend to lose attraction to their partner.

The typical reasoning seems to revolve around caring for children drains the woman. However, I’m not so sure. What I’ve experienced and what I’ve gathered second hand is the moment the relationship ends, even if the children are very young, the woman has no problems hooking up with new partners. The lack of libido was strictly a lack of desire for their former partner.

Maybe once kids are born the familiarity of child rearing has the man being experienced more as a sibling than a romantic partner. And if that’s actually the case, I believe everyone involved would be happier and healthier if that knowledge was common and accepted.

I’ll say this: multiple women cheated on their significant other w me and the thing they all had in common was this weird void that couldn’t be filled with anything wholesome

Not enough attention, not enough masculinity from their partner, not enough love, not enough understanding, not enough variety etc

Something was always just not enough for them

And having this person outside of their relationship that they could believe had everything they wanted made the void bearable, even if they were lying to themselves

So with that said, I’ve had a bit of sex for pleasure and I’m not sure where I stand on it anymore

I used to think it was more healthy to let your inhibitions go and be who you really are

But part of me thinks maybe life isn’t supposed to be pleasurable all the time and maybe being happy is about being satisfied with as little as possible bc you’re all you need

I sway between both of these ideas depending on how I feel at the time but I’m not entirely sure which is true

It is important but I don't know why and have no interest in knowing why (this is a useless metaphysical question). And I think evolutionnary theory is a bad explanation for things anyway because it's non-falsifiable.

I think long term couple are bored because monogamy is boring. It's like eating the absolute same food everyday: some people like it, but most people don't.

well, natural selection isn’t a perfectly fine-tuned machine that “intentionally” does anything, so yeah a lot of these things are incidental and continue they don’t happen to IMPEDE reproduction.

There is a lot in here so I’m going to just answer the question as posed simply.

I think sexual pleasure is very important, but not as important in my relationship as the connection it creates. And the pleasure comes from that connection. That’s what makes sex with my SO better and more fulfilling than casual sex. In my experience getting tired / bored came from losing that communication and connection. It was a symptom of a much bigger problem in the relationship. (And for whatever it means it was not just on my side that we lost that)

So the sexual pleasure is more layered to me than just fuck->get off. This isn’t to say that casual sex can’t be fun but it’s not fulfilling.

To me, sex is fun. And it feels good. The reason it does can be debated and beaten to death, fact still remains it does. And that's motivate my behavior.

Having sex with someone I like and know where it's going to be fun, is something I'll always be down for. If any isn't there, meh. Overall though? I like sex most the same way I like oxygen and money : the less I think about it, the better I feel.

Women want all three and I don’t see why she wouldn’t try to have the children of all three if that means producing offspring from three different men. Evolutionarily, women are naturally monogamous if one man can provide all three. Most men can’t and so I don’t agree that women are evolutionarily more monogamous than men are.

It's so easy for men to get sex, it's not even funny. All you need to do is figure out a way to actually FEEL good about yourself. If YOU feel good about yourself, women will instinctually assume that you MUST be a high quality person worth mating with. Sure, you may still be somewhat limited to your looks matches but there is no reason for any man to go sexless.

As for couples getting bored of each other, I can tell you that in any single relationship, I've been the first one to get sexually bored by my girlfriends. It's hard wired in men to want to breed wjth as many women as possible. So when we smell the one we've been wjth for a year, our brain tells us "been there done that, go find fresh pussy". Sounds brutal but that's reality my friend. We must live in it.

Now for sex for pleasure vs procreation. Yes, we can have sex recreationally. Although, you may want to know that women essentially go into heat every month for a few days when they ovulate. That's when they are more likely to go out and seek a male to inseminate them. Their brain tells them MUST HARVEST SPERM. Men's biology makes it that we are always ready to inseminate a willing female. It's just different mechanisms at work. So when you recognize these signs of a woman being in heat, you increase your chances of getting laid.

Okay but why have sex if you are not going to want children? Well, it feels good. There is an exchange of pheromones and your hormones make you feel good. It's fantastic. It is fulfilling. I think you trying to deny that you are a sexual being is one of the saddest things I've ever heard on the internet.

Why do you believe sexual pleasure is important to your life?

I mean it's biologically hardwired into us in the most Primal sense, reproduction is something that we are physically designed to do , that's just a fact and sex was designed to be pleasurable for us, so in that pseudo specific way , it's important for the species.

As far as me in particular, it depends on exactly what you mean by important, I'm not going to go risk my life to get laid , I'm not going to fuck up my money to get laid or anything like that but most of us are flesh-and-blood human beings especially men with testosterone and hormones and a libido, so the drive itself is there, and I'm going to have fun with it and use it while it still works, and my pleasure and general happiness is important to me because well it just is and that in part includes sexual pleasure and happiness.

Specifically in the confines of a relationship sex is even more important because sex / sexual attraction is pretty much what separates our relationship from just a really good friendship being roommates, and I'm somebody that cares about my significant other's happiness, and part of that is her sexual wellbeing and desires being taken care of to the best of my abilities, because I love her and she cooked me some really awesome pork chops this past weekend so it's the least I could do😂

It happens, that's all I can say which is why I don't do monogamy, I love my wife but once we started getting serious I let her know that while I'm not going to sleep with everything that moves, if I'm out of town on a business trip or something along those lines, I'm going to have some fun if the opportunity presents itself, and yes she is bisexual and also allowed to sleep with other women no other dudes ( and no I'm not going to answer "why no other dudes?" like every other time whenever this comes up lol)

But there's a reason they say variety is the spice of life, and as much as some people don't like being compared to objects or other things like that if you have cheeseburgers every day, you can spice it up as much as you want you can put ketchup, pickles, mustard, spicy mustard, lettuce, tomato an egg, etc. On it, but at some point you're just going to be fucking sick of cheeseburgers

Personally, I do believe in it. I've always enjoyed sex if they're actually good at it. I don't want a kid for a looonngg time so it's not reproduction for me. It's all about communication. If they listen to what I like, then I have no reason to get "bored" of them
