It is my personal experience. I've been dating my gf for almost 3 years now, but I still need moments where I can get on my own and nerdy at home. I have a lot of things I enjoy to do. Of course it would feel better if I could share them with someone like-minded, partner or friend, but I will still do them alone. It's mostly being nerdy on music production stuff.

The stuff I often read or hear is, I'll grow out of being "selfish" with my hobbies when I marry, or, when I was single, I was told I was that much into video games because it was a cope or something.

And I'm sitting like, why can't I have best of both worlds? Am I condamned to be single to enjoy hobbies? Am I condamned to quit fooling around with stuff I enjoy and "get real" everytime I'm in a relationship?

Just feels weird to me.
