I know Hulk is practically invincible but as a person and a character Bruce has been attacked and hunted, he has hurt people as Hulk, he has seen insane amount of death and destruction as an Avenger, shoulders the responsibility of protecting the planet, has seen his friends die, and has to be careful not to hulk out and hurt innocent people. Yeah. Surely a privilaged lawyer has suffered more trauma than him.

I am definitely not implying that someone's trauma is less than others. Everyone's struggle are difficult for them even if it may seem trivial to others.

I am talking about characters here. Jennifer doesn't have inherently more stress and struggle just because she is a woman.

As far as the topic itself goes? Yeah, the show is a feminist's wet dream. But most of the MCU stuff lately has been more about 'the message' than telling a story.

For instance... If She-Hulk had explained that she'd faced trauma because she was assaulted, or because guys refused to speak to her, or explained how kids were scared of her, and since she only ever wanted to be a mom, it was incredibly emotionally scarring, or whatever. I would've been okay with something like that. It increases her depth as a CHARACTER rather than a walking billboard for feminist talking points.

It's not the topic that's the issue; it's the fact that they turn it into a message instead of letting a character, you know, be a character.

And the way the show is being written, she won't even come close to the same trauma going forward. Spoilers ahead. A new identity definitely won't take over her body and run rampant with it all the time until she learns how to control it over a decade. She got the superpower without any of the drawbacks handed to her on a silver plate, a successful lawyer who gets "constant mansplaining" by a guy who really just disagrees but is promptly kicked out from her office by an overenthusiastic woman who apparently worships her for some unknown reason, that's the only example we saw. And we only know she's such a good lawyer is because that woman told us to think that. Finally the only catcalling we saw ended by Bruce having to save the lives of some assholes from her because she couldn't control her emotions when faced with mildly annoying people, in a situation where the first thing she should've done is go inside, talk to the bartender and call somebody... but instead she ended up getting dressed as a prostitute because... that scene made the least sense in the entire episode.

We don't know this woman, there was no background on her, the episode had nothing to establish any conflict in her life, any adversity, nothing to confirm what she says but she said so and definitely wouldn't even exaggerate so we're expected to believe that both her personal and professional life is a serious struggle because she's a woman.

She also lost her temper with Bruce while she was making that pep talk about how she had it worse, plus the entire montage of what they were doing there was her not taking any of it seriously and acting as if she figured it out and mastered it already and definitely doesn't need help from somebody with much more experience, because that would be mansplaining of course.

A perfect role model for feminists.

During her little rant, doesn't she end up transforming, which kind of puts a little hole in her rant, which was kind of the point of the scene? And doesn't she later end up apologizing and they see eye-to-eye by the end of all of it? Been a bit since I've seen the first episode since I sailed the high seas to get it, but I got the distinct impression she realised how out of line she was.

The character is obviously not perfect and has flaws, which are going to be worked on as the series continues, it's called character growth, or progression, whatever you want to call it. All the other big characters had a 90+ minute movie to do that, got to give She-hulk more than one episode before you write them off.
