I hate to say this, but we deride the Daily mail for making shitty sexist and misandric articles about men all the time.

I don't think that we should be taking anything away from this article without looking at is with total and utter skepticism, the type which we use when reading a feminist written article we don't agree with. The Daily Mail spends the majority of its time spreading hate about one group or another, fucks sake, they're the ones behind this porn block bullshit.

This story reminds me of a story I heard about a Japanese soldier who hid in the jungle at the end of WWII. No one told this soldier the war was over, so he continued fighting the, "enemy." He sabotaged planes. He set booby traps. He set trucks on fire. Generally, he did lots of damage. People on the island tried to tell him the war was over, but he did not believe them. Planes kept flying overhead because there was an airport on a nearby island, so he assumed the planes were bombing Japan. When in reality, they were just passenger airliners flying from the island to Asia. Eventually, people on the island had to get people from his unit to tell him over loudspeakers the war was over, and finally, he was convinced, and he came out of the jungle and stopped fighting, people who were not his, "enemy." My point is someone should tell feminists the war is over. It's not only over, but they won. They should have realized this when more woman started attending college than men, or when there were more woman making 70 to 80 thousand dollars a year than men, but instead like the Japanese soldier they see things that make them believe the war is still going on, like there are more men studying math and science than women. When in reality, this is a result of biology, rather than gender bias. So feminists continue fighting a war that's over, causing all kinds of damage,like contributing to girls developing eating disorders, when they should be doing something that's actually justified-like being advocates for the poor.

Mmm... disagree. I'm pretty sure if you had a site dedicated to men conglomerating to demonstrate their apathy, contempt or disdain for women, women's approach and female sexuality, people would find it very harmful and offensive. Imagine if you had a site riddled with statements like "eww, this girl tried to talk to me and she was so gross!", "This bitch said to me that I had a nice ass, that is so rude and offensive!" or "This girl grabbed my ass and giggled, women are so disgusting!", I'm pretty sure a lot of people would be very bothered by it. Do you really think men would be allowed to post such comments/experiences on this site(not that it's really likely, given that men aren't really raised to view female sexuality with contempt, fear, disdain and anger)?

Not only that but, at the end of the day, you can't say that reinforcing and embracing male vilification isn't harmful either. It is very harmful, with a lot of real consequences down the line and justifications for escalations of violence. You certainly can't say that it isn't harmful either to allow these women complete impunity to libel as much as they want, and fabricate stories that could cause serious damage to any man. If private information is released, as it sometimes(maybe often) is with these types of sites, real consequences/harm can certainly be made.

It's one thing if these types of sites were gender neutral and restricted the use of private information, but the reality is that these sites are built with a vindictive and hateful intent, and are driven by this "all men are rapists, all women are victims" mentality. Which is a very harmful mentality to support and propagate.

I am a woman and this article hits the nail on the head of what I hate about contemporary feminism. Early Feminism was about empowering women, about offering choices and encouraging independence on a gender of people who have been systematically oppressed for the last few thousand years of history.

Women fought and earned the right to vote, to work for a living wage, to go to college, to get a divorce if need be and in this day and age - most are capable of supporting themselves if they have the work ethic to do so.

I think there are still many battles to fight in the sex war for women. For instance, the states that impose barbaric abortion laws or limit access to contraception.

But much of the Feminist discourse in this day and age has become "WOMEN ARE VICTIMS!" "I'M A VICTIM!" And an emphasis on the fact that you can NEVER blame the victim.

While I would never blame a victim of rape, I think it would be good if more universities taught women how to avoid rape in the first place. When I went to school, there were massive campaigns and posters plastered all over the place encouraging men not to rape. But there was nothing about what women could do as individuals to protect themselves.

I even took a Women's Studies course that emphasized how our culture encourages rape. But did the teacher say anything about women taking self defense courses, learning how to use a gun, or being careful about what she drank at a party? NO!

First of all, I think there should be gender movements for men and women.

Yet in the movement for women, I think the shift should be on empowering and educating women about how to avoid situations that would end up harming them. Female gun ownership is drastically lower than male gun ownership. When I go to the shooting range, I'm usually one of the few females there. I would encourage women to take some kind of basic self defense course. I would tell them, when going to a party, make sure to go with a friend that you trust and not to take drinks from strangers. Also, if I had a daughter, I would tell her to be careful about how she dressed in certain parts of town. Not that anyone EVER deserves to be raped for what they are wearing, but the reality that wearing flashy and sexy clothing increases the chances of inviting unwanted attention - just as driving a flashy red car in a bad part of town increases your chance of getting car jacked.

Too much of Feminism these days is about constructing a vast overarching bureaucracy that will supposedly protect women from men, rather than simply empowering women to protect themselves.

This title is awful. It's completely polarizing. Almost everyone experiences some amount of discrimination in different ways. Men and women both have their own disadvantages in western society. Instead of making this a pissing contest of who's more oppressed, why not just focus on fixing them?

Good article, and I have to say I agree with it. This is real, honest feminism how it was meant to be. The writer reminds me an awful lot of my mother, who told me stories of her youth when she was harassed and responded the same way.

Modern day feminists are an embarrassment to the real ones who didn't want to destroy the patriarchy but merely wanted to be equal. Good stuff.

This is fairly typical of most social movements which include insurgencies, cults, and terrorist cells (I'm not comparing them but only noting their evolution in social organization). You start of with a concern and a large following gathers. Political and social goals are met at some point at which that following typically fades with time. However, there is usually one part of the movement who's goals remain the same, their perceived deprivation always nipping at their heals.

Eventually they have to meet some level of homophilly and achieve perfect group-think, partially due to their own cyclical radicalization, and partially their need to separate from the larger group.

This is all fairly normal. But for women, I wouldn't worry about this small minority of women re-radicalizing the majority.

One of my favorite (and by favorite I mean that ironically) is when women complain about threats online and shit. As if that only happens to women? Do you even Internet? I played Xbox for 8 years, and I've been on the Internet for longer. I have been told to "suck my dick faggot" or "imma rape the fuck out of you, you cunt" and the like so many times. Literally thousands of times. It never bothered me. Sure, I'm a straight male, but does that actually matter? Are they even considering my sex when they say that? I'm not playing the victim. I could cry and say "they're making me uncomfortable and belittling me" but I don't, because if I act like the victim, I'll be treated as a victim, which is not what someone with self-respect should want (unless of course it's a real thing like being stabbed and shit of the like).

Chivalry becomes oppression then? Or in the case that a guy wasn't just being polite and she was having trouble parking it, if you can't park your car properly YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A FUCKING DRIVING LICENSE.

I'd also call it an absolute insult walking around with a face that looks like a barbie doll that a 5 year old has been experimenting with fire on. But, now i'm just bitter.
