I love that "they choose to remain single" trope. :D Women in their 30's and 40's have hit the wall and they know they are in trouble at that point. They had their fun, would like to settle down but the ones they rejected or divorced want nothing to do with them. It is really unfortunate because when I was in my 20's and 30's, this was just not the case, for the most part.

Sounds like the we have to save wahmen from their own bad choices kind of thing.

Edit: Also, no mention of the feminist ideology directly but it seems to me it is there. This 40 something year old florist has found out she has hit the wall and cannot go back. I can only say that reality is reality and the wall is real.

It’s sad but we are going to see population growth slow world wide as young men decide that want marriage and kids less and less because it’s not worth the risk of being saddled with crazy for 18+ years.

Unless this is an equal system where single men are also helped but somehow I doubt they would care about old single men in their 40s, they are still expected to be expandable.

give people positive choices for their lives that don't result in severe consequences e.g. equality in the legal system( especially marriage and children) , employment, health, and education( don't teach people that they have more rights over someone else because of their gender). In fact remove the immutable characteristics criteria that causes so many problems( exception being disability which needs 100% support for societal inclusion)

Every non-suicidal society will always prefer families over single people, that's just very simple logic; no group of people can continue to exist if they don't have children, and children tend to grow up fucked up unless they're raised in a relatively stable environment with enough emotional and financial support.

OK, watched the video. This was a result of a survey of 500 women done by the Seoul Foundation of Women and Family...

A recent survey conducted by the Seoul metropolitan government on women in their 40’s and 50’s living alone, only 36.9% responded that they were preparing for old age.
Also, 81.2% of them answered that they were unable to prepare for their later years because they couldn’t afford to do so.

The number of women appears on a graph in the video at around 3 minutes. There is no indication that they asked men, and it's pretty clear that men are not women's organization's concern.

But it is not clear to me whether this is the women's choice, the man's choice, or the choice of both. I don't know about Korea specifically, but in Japan a married salaryman is expected to work himself to death supporting his wife and her family. Many Japanese men are opting out. It's possible that married men in Korea face similar burdens and have no interest in assuming that burden.

So both Korea and Japan have all time low birth rates. Soon their shrinking populations will be primarily composed of the elderly. With no immigration (that's the only reason America's population is growing), these countries are slowly dying.

Interesting. So manufacturing a society that is so hostile and unlivable to men that they instinctively close off to women, which makes women unhappy, might be thought of as a mistake women made. As a consequence, it is only logical that we need to punish ... er .... that's right, men. They need to pay more taxes to provide all that to women who, despite all the privileges heaped on them by gynocentric societies, end up unhappy and thus deserving compensation. To be fair Korean women that aren’t married by 30, often don’t get married and spend their lives making quite a bit less than their male peers. Those that do get marred have to find stable men because chances are they’ll get forced out of the it jobs as soon as they get into baby making mode. Korea is about 50 years behind the western world in terms of gender equality. It’s the one place I support feminists because their gripes are legitimate.

Did any of you actually WATCH THE VIDEO? this is something that is happening in Korea. Apparently it's not just single women but all individuals that choose to remain single. Because the governing welfare of their country is family based it's difficult for single people, mainly women, to get what should be a right to everyone. Imagine not being able to have health insurance because you're not married by a certain age, period. OR imagine being single by the time you're 50 and not being able to sign consent forms for a major life dependent surgery because only immediate family members (aka parents or older siblings).

Funny, the church and most religions established the iron rule of marriage and one women per men 2000 years ago, for a reason. And forbid divorce in most cases.

Nowadays, nobody accept those rules. And suddenly we have disaster, masses of single women dying alone and sexless men. Oh, surprise, who would have thought that religions had a reason for those weird marriage rules, eh?
