If I were a single man living in a house on his own, I wouldn't rent a spare room to lone women, either. Too much risk to me. Suspect AirBnB would take a dim view of that decision but I wouldn't be too public about it.

I have stayed in AirBnBs owned by lone women, but, randomly, only when they weren't there. I remember mentioning to one of them that I wouldn't necessarily want to give a complete stranger the keys to my place while I wasn't even there, and she responded that it felt like a risk, on no basis other than fearing they'd wreck the place, but in the end it turns out I'm honest, non-violent and as sanitary as anyone else.

One important thing everyone forgot, always forgets and never mentions: every single property listed on Airbnb and elsewhere were all built by these very men the female property owners discriminate against. I literally have a work colleague who worked in the construction industry for 10 years and now have to take medication regularly for backpain caused by his construction job.

Discrimination is not the solution and should not be normalised. If we humans can program a computer and vehicle to safety land on other planets, we can also use our brain and common sense to protect ourselves from potential harm instead of indiscriminately discriminating against people who build our homes and risk their lives to protect us from that very same harm.

been cleaning hotel rooms for nearly 3 years as a little side Hussle and my top 10 worst cleans were all women only stays. worse one was a group of girls who on of in the bathroom span there used tampon around the bathroom like a rock on a string, drew a smiley face on the wall with said used tampon, and left it on the ground. that wasn't even all the damage they did. worse part was that they had met me about an hour before they left and the blood was fresh. which meant they met me and then one went into the bathroom and did that knowing they were leaving it for a 16 year old to clean up.
