Wait how are you all so certain she's cheating? I have no proof yet my heart and mind screams that she fucks her step brother at the very least and has since he was younger... yet I literally have zero proof. What do you guys consider knowing and not just false intuition. How cam you end a marriage a covenant without 100% proof? I'd give my left nut and some fingers to know the truth. I mean shit at this point I'd give my life possibly just to know. It eats at me everyday and has tormented me for years yet she says I'm crazy.

from my experience, try your best to forget her from your life. it hurts like hell, but you can do it. i just recently got a dog. it has given me more love and affection than any girl has ever given me in my life. bjj, boxing, and pickleball has helped me out tremendously by learning new skillsets and gaining confidence. the most important thing, try your best to not isolate yourself by staying at home in front of the tv.

Man, I feel for you! And I want to say that you are doing a great job, listening to the guys here. You are showing a really level head by walking back on the GPS tracking idea.

My suggestion is that you schedule some lawyer consults and then focus on you.

I’ve shared the below, in the past, here and quite a few guys have said they have found it helpful to them. Hopefully you can find something useful from the below.

Advice when faced w divorce

Here is what I did and highly recommend to other guys going through divorce to start doing (these are just the basics).

Lift, heavy weights. If you don’t have access to heavy weights, then body weight exercises and high-intensity cardio. The idea is you physically exhaust your body, which increases good chemicals in your brain. It will make you look better too, which helps with self-confidence. This can help w feelings of anger too. Also more muscles, those are good too.

Start and do BJJ, Muay Thai and/or Boxing 3-6x a week. This will help you mentally as well as physically. Also it will help you be somewhat social. This can help w feelings of anger too. Punching a heavy bag for 5 minutes straight is pretty tiring and builds endurance and strength. And after a few minutes you are just thinking of breathing and hitting and not a whole bunch else.

Find some hobbies to do, old ones you stopped or some new ones. Guitar, woodworking, piano, hunting, dancing, yoga, stamp collecting, shooting, home improvement projects, model building. For when you aren’t lifting heavy weights and/or rolling or punching something. The idea is that you find something that brings you joy and keeps your mind and body occupied.

Stay away from alcohol (drugs), do not rely on it to numb the pain. Sure, have a drink or two but don’t let it be a crutch. You are stronger then that. Also use this time to fix your nutrition (I prefer low carb and high protein and fat, along w Intermittent Fasting). And also get your sleep, your brain needs to be sharp while you are going through this. Can’t sleep? Try melatonin, sleep / relaxation apps, meditation, prayer, fixed bed time routine. Also, more and more intense exercise… wear your body out a little bit (ofc, don’t injure yourself).

Start pursuing some alternate stream(s) of income other then your regular 9-5. Start w writing business ideas that you could do in 10-20 hours a week then start pursuing them. Doesn’t have to be huge but something that brings in extra money and gives your mind something to do. (Legal bills will add up quickly, even on amicable splits). Maybe doing some driving for Lyft / Uber or Door Dash, real estate investing (podcast Bigger Pockets) or maybe you have some skill you haven’t used in a bit that can bring in some extra cash (Tutoring, guitar lessons, dog walker, etc).

Learn to meditate, starting w a couple minutes a day and work your way up to 10-15 minutes. (This actually lowers my blood pressure, I’ve measured before and after. It also helps w obsessive negative thoughts). There are several apps out there, I use Headspace. If you are religious pray, read your Bible or other holy book.

Make your living space your own. Whether you get to stay in your house or have to move. Over time put furniture, art, plants, and other items that YOU want and will be proud to show to people you invite over.

Get a therapist. You might have to trial a couple before you find one that you click with and you feel that they understand you. Do NOT feel bad about firing them. If they are any good they will help you set some goals for the sessions. Sometimes sessions won’t be super productive other times they will be. It’s a process that takes some time and won’t last forever. But it will help you struggle through the mental quagmire (shit) and grow stronger and move on.

Reach out to friends and family to keep those connections alive or to re-kindle them. Be careful about venting to family and friends about your situation or Ex. It is alright to do for close relationships but keep it vague and short. That is what the therapist is mostly for.

Read books and/or listen to audiobooks, here are some recommendations that I found helpful (I really think the audiobooks are a good investment. I can take a 4 hour road trip and finish a book. Learn to listen at faster speeds.):

The above are just the basics, if you have kids there should be a few others things you should start doing. If your Ex has a personality disorder there are several more things you need to do.

Do not share w your Ex you are doing these things. If she finds out, ok but this is your business for you to focus on. Do not let her draw you into talking about these things. They are yours and yours alone.

This not a sprint, it is more like a marathon, just keep moving forward one foot in front of the other. Your journey won’t be straight, some days you will feel like shit, some days you won’t. The important thing is that you keep doing some positive things in your life, for yourself.

And lastly, do NOT jump right back into another serious relationship. Figure out the part you played incoming to the divorce. Maybe it wasn’t much or maybe it was. Figure that out and be honest with yourself and accept feedback from those that know you (family, friends, therapist, guys here). Be ok w being on your own for awhile. Do NOT repeat the same mistakes that got you where you are right now. I would recommend taking at least a year to work on the above before dating again. If you really focus on the above you will go back to the dating market, if you so choose, in a much much better position.

Don’t give up, you’ve got this.

OK, I'll be the voice of dissent here. Everyone here says it's illegal and worthless. Illegal? If the car is property of the marriage, I can't imagine it's illegal to track your own car. What if it were anti-theft purposes?

And worthless? I understand OP's need to know the truth. I like the spy games. I agree that the information will probably ultimately be worthless in court. But all intelligence is useful. The way I see it, divorce is war. Even the law says that divorce is "adversarial" (which is just a fancy word for war). Why would you toss out any intelligence about your enemy? You never know what what the GPS will reveal (visits to a bank, visits to a lawyer, visits to friends, visits to God-knows-who). Not just specific instances, but patterns-of-life.

Plus, there's one great benefit. If you catch her in a brazen lie, you can sit on it for a long time. And the next time there's a debate about her trustworthiness, you can throw it in her face. She'll be stunned.

So, OP, I vote: Do it. I can't recommend a particular model. But Amazon has a bunch.

When I had my suspicions, I put a keylogger on my then-wife's laptop. Yeah, I'm that kind of man. Make fun of me if you want, but, let me tell you: I learned a LOT about her in a few weeks. Her e-mails to an ex-boyfriend told me everything I needed to know.

Find out if you’re on the hook for spousal support in a divorce. If you are. hire a private investigator. Don’t do your investigation it will mess with your head. You have to let it happen. don’t go too long with knowing about her cheating or you’ll actually be condoning it. If you’re not on the hook for spousal support. Then just go start the process with a lawyer file first.

To answer your question, for $50/mo you can get AngelSense. It has a GPS tracker, a "listen in" option where you call the device and it silently connects and you're live wherever the device is, you can call and use it as a phone, plus some other bells and whistles. My kids are both autistic so they both carry one. They do need to be charged nightly and the listen in function isn't very clear. But at $50/mo and the hassle of doing something that's not going to win you points in a divorce, it's not worth it. If you HAVE to know, hire a P.I. and get legit proof that may at least be usable.

But I have to agree with an earlier comment, the best thing you can do is confront her (film or record it so she can't say you did/said anything you didn't) and tell her to go on and get the hell on. GTFO.

Me and wife fight all the time and she sometimes run off with kids.... instead of trying to stop her from insanely running off with kids I put tracker in car.

Low and behold I unexpectedly tracked her at hotels when she said she was going to office to work. Observed this for about a month before confronting her ... She claimed she needed peace and quit so she go to hotels to work sometimes.

I know this is something she used to do before we hook up, go to hotels and chill out... But now that we've been married for 10 years and always fighting.... Who knows what she was / is doing.

You got to be crafty when you catch her in the act. You got a know when to come out and say caught ya bitch! Perhaps go to the hotel and record her coming out with the dude so she can't deny it.

You can track and see everything she is doing but it won't change a thing and will lead you thru a rabbit hole with no answers and emotional pain. There will come a point when you will have to decide to move on. Do it now before you get any deeper.

There are many device options yet its not worth getting caught tracking. Wearing a disguise and following is also a bust. Spending money on someone tracking may or may not payoff. Lawyer up.

Better off spending your money on a good attorney. My advice is don’t work yourself up trying to follow her . It’s not good for you . I don’t think it will make you feel good either . Long term success , your lawyer might be able to help you keep more assets.

Be careful with this. State laws all vary and you can end up in legal trouble over it. Look up your state laws then maybe consult with an attorney before doing anything. Spending a couple hundred bucks for a 1 hour consult can save you a lot in the long run.
