While the daddy thing is cringey to me, it's an absolute fact that there are dildos with delusional grandiose aplenty.
[–]missyou2017FDS Newbie82 points83 points84 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Hey! At least dildos can't kill you.
[–]LCM75360FDS Newbie27 points28 points29 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Very true! Another reason to appreciate it.

This is painfully true.. they expect free sex on demand, cooking, cleaning, splitting rent or else we are "leeching", how tf are they our daddies??
[–]manisfestationqueenFDS Apprentice133 points134 points135 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
They want a wifey... But we want husbands too. You want me to do my role then do yours. Inspire me. If you think I'm going to show off to you, you better have something to bring. We coddle men to the point where they have absolutely zero to offer, yet we're supposed to bend over backwards to get noticed... Nah I'm playing the game differently now. I want different results
[–]HaveNoIdeaWhatToPickFDS Newbie15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This! I've heard so many of them demanding more and more, but when I asked them what they have to offer... All I've got was even more demands lol.
[–]LeavixFDS Newbie240 points241 points242 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Don't call any boyfriend daddy. You have a father and even if he doesn't behave like a father, you sure don't need a replacement. Especially not with a sexual connection. That's fucked up and gives them some false superiority feeling.
[–]Ntop__FDS Newbie[S] 103 points104 points105 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Absolutely. It's incredibly creepy. And as much fun as it would be to give such a request a witty retort, it's best to block and move on if you're not into that.

The only man I ever dated that thought “daddy” was hot had major issues: The acute neuroses of a clinical manchild paired with the anti-feminist sentiment that turned me off him like vinegar on a cake. He was absolutely gorgeous, but so riddled with insecurities and “machismo” that he turned sour in my arms.
Honestly? He described himself as “a rescue dog”. 24 y/o me thought it was endearing at first. But no woman with a good head on her shoulders would waste time trying to “rescue” him.
Men who like to be called daddy “request” that because they have no accurate idea of what being a father means. And they have no intention of ever being a good provider. It’s a twisted little form of dominance so that they can “feel like a man”. Because men like this only feel “manly” when they are squashing a woman under their mediocre penis and even lesser values

“Absolutely gorgeous but so riddled w insecurities and ‘machismo’ that he turned sour in my arms”. God, did we date the same guy?

Yes.
[–]GlasswingbutrflyFDS Newbie39 points40 points41 points 5 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
I particularly liked the analogy about vinegar on cake. I think I made that specific, horrified, turned off face. Bravo!
[–]Inspection-CriticalFDS Newbie42 points43 points44 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly how I reacted when I realized what I was dealing with, too.
On the surface: handsome, hard working, great career.
Below the surface: Manchild with mommy issues and a savior complex. Never met a crazy woman he didn't want to fix.
He even seemed thoughtful and had flashes of deep emotional connection, but he couldn't sustain any of it due to trauma he refused to see a therapist for. He just doubled down on his addictions (workaholism and dating unstable women).
I've said this before, ladies, but not all Peter Pans live in their mommy's basement. A guy can kill it at the job and the gym and still be an emotional wreck. Don't fall for it.

I actually didn't understand that one at first because I put vinegar in my cakes. And lemme clarify that I use it as a substitute if I don't have a buttermilk lol.
[–]Educational_StayFDS Newbie10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Thats a good point maybe not the best simile. Vinegar in a cake can be useful, unlike dating dud men
[–]GlasswingbutrflyFDS Newbie7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Hmmm very interesting. What kinds of cakes do you usually do that with, and what kind of vinegar? Sorry I'm not much of a baker yet lol
[–]RavenWudgieRoseFDS Newbie15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Naw, baking is fun, you'll come around eventually :) So buttermilk can be essential because the acidity of buttermilk also reacts with the baking powder or baking soda to rise, which gives it that delicious and delightfully softer/light texture. And when I'm out of buttermilk, I substitute it with a cup of whole milk mixed with a tablespoon of lemon juice, or apple cider, or white vinegar (I use the latter because it has a more neutral flavor), and wait for about 5 minutes to curdle a little and voila! Now you've got yourself a cup of buttermilk. And you can put it in whatever cakes there is tbh (ie. Brownies, pound cake, even bread! With the right amount of measurement of course...) but I personally love my classic layered chocolate cake cause I'm a chocoholic :)))
[–]FitncurlyFDS Apprentice5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yup, my homemade “buttermilk” pancakes have a touch of vinegar in them too. Damn delicious if I do say so myself 😋
[–]Eleonora0FDS Newbie8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
A spoonful of vinegar in meringue (egg white mix) makes them slightly gluey when baked. It’s delicious, and the vinegar taste/smell disappears completely.
[–]GlasswingbutrflyFDS Newbie7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I will definitely be thinking of you and your recommendation the first time I try making meringue, haha. Thank you!
[–]Classic_TouchFDS Newbie5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Haha I had the same first thought.
[–]Inspection-CriticalFDS Newbie21 points22 points23 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
He described himself as “a rescue dog”. 24 y/o me thought it was endearing at first. But no woman with a good head on her shoulders would waste time trying to “rescue” him.
Similar experiences here.
In hindsight, I can't believe how many red flags I blatantly ignored with so many men before I found FDS.
I know there are some sociopaths out there with Oscar-level acting abilities, and they can absolutely snow their victims.
But honestly, I can't think of a single situation in my own life (or my friends') where there wasn't at least one huge honking red flag that we ignored. And of course, we paid for it later.
I heard a great saying recently: The red flag you ignore on the first date will be the reason your relationship ends later. It's true.

Exactly. Back in my pickme days I dated a man twice my age who was into the whole daddy / daughter bdsm crap. Turned out he was broke for almost all his life, had no sense of managing money, had the audacity to demand me to split the bills, even borrow and accept large sums of money from me (a BROKE COLLEGE GIRL). He was a narcissist, and ended up abusing me. Insanity.
I will never, ever, call a man that, unless he is my own father. And my own father is amazing, he paid for almost all my college, provided a roof, a car, meal, an allowance for me, and takes care of me and my mom and family. He doesn't expect anything except a thank you in return. He set me up for success. I don't think men like him exist out there anymore in my generation. He truly is a HVM. I suppose I was just looking for that in a man, but they are too egocentric, too financially inept, too pornsick, too brainwashed by liberal feminism.
[–]helppleasekkFDS Newbie11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I have a HV father too. I wish every girl and woman had one because it's truly something special. HV fathers set daughters up for success just by being there as excellent role models. No male will ever be in the position to hurt me because I expect and demand high value. First yellow flag and they are out.
[–]chateauduchatFDS Newbie7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I’m so glad you have a great HV father. I really tell my mom that I wish I could be as blessed as her (and my dad knows how blessed he is to have her, he gave up a lot of opportunities to be at more at home and had a great and honorable career, and he always tells and shows her how much he loves her). I wish I could’ve guarded myself and vetted more in my dating life, so I will if or when I decide to do so again. If it’s yellow, so not say hello!!
[–]lilylilolyFDS Newbie1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ok I get that liberal feminism has done many women dirty but it's not to blame for men's poor behavior. That's shifting the blame from where it belongs. Men were beating, raping, and enslaving women long before feminism was ever a thought. ts bro culture that's responsible for a lot of bad behaviour, not being willing to lose friendships to calling each other out as well as getting social standing amongst your boys for degrading women. Harassing/talking bad about women is literally how many men bond.

Thank you.
A guy wanting to be called daddy is so damn creepy.
Also, why tf do people call each other baby? This also creeps the hell out of me.
[–]EmergencyShitFDS Apprentice5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Baby is my go-to endearment for romantic partners. I’ve never had a huge age gap with any of them. I also don’t have children. “Baby” just spills out of my mouth easily.
[–]msuarez0822FDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I get that, “baby” is a cultural term that rolls off the tongue easily.
I just get too literal and in my head about terminology sometimes so I always felt a bit off about things people see as normal. Heavens please don’t feel at all weird about what I said.
I just honestly want to know why the term originated in the first place, to be truthful. Like who was the first person inspired to think “I want to call you the same thing I call my children”.
[–]th3n3w3ston3FDS Newbie1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
!!! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO THOUGHT "BABY" WAS CREEPY!
[–]FewButterscotch6FDS Newbie1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My NVM ex insisted on calling me "babydoll" even after I told him that I didn't like it. Any variation of that makes my skin crawl now. Baby, doll, or even babe, they're all just blech to me.
[–]hilariouslystatedFDS Newbie8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I will never understand the appeal of calling a man "daddy" if he's not your actual father. It's not sexy whatsoever to me.

[–]FewButterscotch6FDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
R. Kelly is so damn utterly disgusting he's retroactively ruined Aaliyah's first album for me. I can't even listen to half the songs on it anymore without just tasting his nasty-ass stank all over it.
