Something that I've noticed about men who go on and on about their "loyalty" as if it's some kind of magic virtue that excuses the raging dumpster fire that is the rest of their personality is that "loyal" is almost always just code for "next to impossible to get rid of".

These are the men who attach to you quickly, dig in deep, and hold on for dear life, no matter how you feel about that. If you refuse to gaslight yourself into accepting their parasitic clinginess as "loyalty" then you're an evil bitch. If you give them even an ounce of your attention (especially if it's negative attention) then they feel like they're entitled to your whole life, forever and ever, because in their minds they've re-branded their shameful parasitism into virtuous loyalty, so you desperately trying to push them away from you and them holding on even tighter is re-interpreted in their mind as them gallantly displaying what they believe is their most positive trait and more proof that they "deserve to have" you. The more shamelessly they cling to you, and the harder you push back, the more virtuous and absolutely entitled to you they feel.
