There have been posts about how The Wall is nothing but a revenge fantasy. Been thinking about this and have to say what's wrong with a little revenge every now and then?

The question becomes how to extract your revenge. Tearing someone down is petty and mean spirited. Living well hurts no one and as a fringe benefit my well induce feelings of jealously and regret in those who have wronged you.

When my ex-wife cheated on me and then filed for divorce my life crumbled. Hit bottom when I ended up in a cardiac ICU. Over the last 18 months I've had to rebuild my body and my life. I'm feeling pretty good about how things are turning out. Yesterday I ran two miles in less than 15 minutes. Nothing special about that time but last year I could barely walk a block. Now the revenge part -- I've been told my ex's new husband has become very jealous. This explains his obvious mate guarding behavior at all the school and sports events we both attend. Also, this morning I got a text message from the woman I dated after my divorce. She was MIA when I ended up in the hospital but now she's "thinking of me" and wants to know "how I'm doing". I'm not above doing a bit of gloating at this point.

What I take away from all this is that, rather than waiting for The Wall to lay waste to women who wronged them, guys need to get their lives onto (or back onto) a good trajectory. This will facilitate the building of new relationships and perhaps the opportunity to indulge in a little revenge too.
